    Do you tell people you have diabetes?

    depends on the situation really. I tend to keep my private life to myself. If i need to i will, but i dont shout it from the roof tops. I am me, not tagged by an illness.

    myself and my 11yr old son are Type1 and were were hba1c tested on friday which came back at 7.7% for us both! Very pleased. :D

    Place them into a sharps box, which are easily obtainable from your drs. Take them back to chemist/drs who will dispose of them correctly.

    Cinema trip for daughter.

    Prob too late with reply now but I would give her popcorn. It's a treat and as long as your not doing it regular it shouldn't harm. She will def need extra insulin tho. How many carbs does she have for 4.5 u insulin? Calculate using this info an estimate of how much extra insulin she will need.

    Medical needs of staff must always come first. Speak to your manager about your concerns. I'm sure there will be some arrangements you can both agree on.

    Flying with an insulin pump

    You need to get a written statement from consultant stating that your child has a pump. They are not allowed through the scanners so they have to be hand searched.

    I have excellent diabetes control and was given a 3yr licence.
