Hi all is anyone else finding their Medtronic extended 7 day Cannulas’s don’t actually last 7 days? More like 5-6 days?

    Type 1 - No appetite/hunger pains

Personally I tend to find if my blood sugar is high I don’t have hunger symptoms. Also it’s common if we don’t eat as per normal patterns the body can stop sending hunger symptoms. Would planning meals and working out carbohydrates in advance help you? Can you reach to your gp to get a...

High and low blood sugar days?

I’ve actually just reset my basal with the diabetic team as mine was well off. Thank you for reassuring me it’s not just me who has these completely random days, I had myself convinced I was doing something wrong!

Type 1: What are your HbA1c test results?

My hba1c is 28 in new money, 4.7 in old money. This is too low but I’ve almost got scared of having a high blood sugar and spend half the day snacking to put my sugar back up to normal

High and low blood sugar days?

Hi Does anyone else find that they have some days where their blood sugars are high snd others when they are just going low with no clear reason why? Like I swear I have days where it’s like the insulin is super active and others where it’s practically asleep! Also then I feel I’m doing...

Type 1 Freestyle libre sensor location

Hello I’ve just signed up for a freestyle libre and I was wondering if people have tried other sensor locations other than on the upper arm which is quite obvious? Personally I’d prefer to locate sensor on my back, thigh or worst case inner arm. Have people had success with any of these...

    Frustration!

Hi all, I appreciate your responses-no idea why it didn’t work but thankfully cannula change got the BS back to normal and is working for longer than 12 hours today so all good-it’s just nice to know I’m not the only one who has the frustration at times!!

    Frustration!

Apologies In advance, this is only a rant-changed cannula yesterday evening all good, working fine until this morning when BS started to rise and point blank refused to come down with bolus. Have ended up changing cannula again but am at a loss as to why it’s gone bad so quickly when it worked...

Delivery after reconnecting post a swim

I get that but usually when I get out it’s a bit low (like between 3 & 4) but then rises really quickly? Moreso than usual

Delivery after reconnecting post a swim

Hi this is a bit random. I disconnect pump to swim and sometimes find when I reconnect if there is no bolus (only standard basal rate) blood sugar shots up very quickly as though the standard basal isn’t getting in. Does anyone else experience this? Thanks

    Pumps

Does anyone find that sometimes their cannula works perfectly for 5/6 days and other times it’s not great after 2 days? Does pausing basal flow due to a low blood sugar impact it? What if you had basal off for a few hours, would that cause it to block?

    Cannula stops working during use?

Thank you all-I hasn’t realised the piece about cannula stopping working-I’ll change it sooner now. Just need to work out the impact of colder air and Pump being more exposed to it than say insulin in handbag and impact on dose (I generally only have about 30-35 units max a day) to be completely...

    Cannula stops working during use?

I have gone as many as 6 days with a cannula but I do usually change after 4 days - I don’t have another need to change sooner unless it’s to adhere to medtronic guidance which cynically I suspect is due to the companies wanting regular purchase rather than a genuine need (suppose it’s a bit...
