Hi Tim2000s. I take my Lantus astound 10 at night. It's really strange it's like overnight I have become more sensitive to the insulin. Will I need to review my basal dose and maybe reduce it a bit.
Hi all I need a bit of help. I have been on a basal bolus for a 2 months now and everything has been going fine up to now. I had worked out that my ratio was about 1:14 and this coupled with my basal of 10 lantus had been working fine. Yesterday though I was fighting lows all day topped off with...
My nurse advised me that it was perfectly fine to take both my lantus and novo rapid at the same time but just to inject at two different sites. i.e. At opposite sides of the stomach
I reduced my basal dose last night and woke this morning with a 6.5 which was great. Had the same amount of carbs as any other day but 2 hours after breakfast I was 11.2 and again 2 hours after dinner was 16.6. I think you may be right a 1/2 dose pen might do the trick. Back to see my nurse on...
HI All,
my basal is 12 units and I take it around 21:30 each night. the last few days I have woken to a BG of around 3.2. once I take my morning bolus and eat breakfast I am fine but it feels like I'm waking up with a hangover each morning
HI Everyone,
I just started a Basal Bolus regime recently and my BG levels have been very good with one exception. I always tend to be a bit low in the morning. I have tried reducing my lantus that didn't work so I have tried eating a snack before bedtime but that didn't work either. has anyone...
HI Daibell. I'm in Ireland so it's even stranger that the HSE has been so efficient. I cant complain about the treatment I have got so far the Nurse has been great and is at the end of the phone if I need her for anything.
Hi all. Just a little background first. I was diagnosed with diabetes about 5 weeks ago. My GP at first told me I was a definite type 2 and started me straight away on meteor in. After a few days my BG was still very high ( around the low 20's) so he referred me straight away to my nearest...
Hi Daibell. I am a bit of a nerdy engineer myself and like to have everything under control. No I don't have a half unit pen and no the nurse didn't really mention too much about carb counting but I have been reading a good bit about it myself hence the post. I have an appointment to see her...
Hi,
I have been newly diagnosed with type 1 Diabetes and have just started injecting insulin. I take 10 units of lantus in the evening and Novorapid with my meals. The nurse in my clinic has told me to take 2 units of the novo rapid with each meal as I am quite sensitive to the insulin. I have...
