Hi, I'm 38 and im insulin dependent... I havent isolated as I havent been told to plus I want to do my bit for the more vulnerable old age pensioners I look after. And covid-19 affects people with diabetes more if they dont have good control over their glucose levels. So if your constantly in...
Hi all. A quick question. I work as a community carer on the front line even with this virus is going around. Has anyone isolated themselves and Should I be in isolation because I'm insulin dependent.
I became diabetic nearly a year ago through illness. It sucks being diabetic but just accepted it and got on with it. I'm on the libre now and it's taught me alot about my diabetes. I eat what I want I don't follow a diet I just limit my intake of rubbish food and take more insulin.
Hi. I was diagnosed T1 in March last year due to pancreatitis. My hair went really thin and was falling out. I was in hospital for 4 months on numerous antibiotics and I thought it was that. So maybe mine was falling out due to just being diabetic???
Lucozade have reduced the amount of glucose in the drink so it's not as successful. I'm type1 and I've been told that 5 jelly babies is enough to bring you out of a hypo.
I use 25 units of tresiba in my stomach. Sometimes I get a lump but I think it's because the needle hasn't Pierced under the skin, but it's gone within 30 seconds and nothing to worry about.
I wear a band around my arm with the blue medical symbol and I carry cards to show what insulin im on.

Thank you for the comment. I'm a carer and I think that I'll find it suitable when I go house to house. It will save me from getting the kit out and testing every two hours.
I'm under the impression that your body does produce higher glucose/sugar levels even tho you don't eat. I wasn't eating when I was in hospital and my levels were up in the 20s. But I thought it was just my medication.
