8.6 is ok. as long As long as you're not in double figures. Rather than haribos try a small wholemeal (Nimble) sandwich with a savoury filling that you enjoy.

explaining what it's really like to live with Type 1

Can I recommend a DAFNE (Dosage Adjustment For Normal Eating) course to everyone who is a Type 1. It's a 5 day course (or was when I did it 15 years ago) and a bit like a Freestyle blood sensor, is life changing. It was available via my diabetic consultant at his venue in Tunbridge Wells. It was...

    Novorapid

Eventually managed to speak with a pharmacist at Kamsons today after my original order for pen refills was delivered (can you believe it????!!!) to me earlier today. Everybody seems confused!!! BUT I was told today that pen refills ARE still available despite being told (by them) a few days ago...

    Novorapid

Put in my order for insulin etc to my GP 2 weeks ago. It was all delivered to me last week except for the Novorapid (with a note to say...."To follow". explaining what it's really like to live with Type 1

    University Student Advice

I can see your issues with accommodation etc but I can't help but pick up on your comment "my diabetes isn’t that well controlled". I think it's really important for you to get it well controlled not just for your own longer term health but also, as an operational nurse with clinical decisions...

    Is this a Hypo?

I absolutely agree with Charly that you need some professional input, be it your GP, diabetic nurse or best of all, your diabetic consultant if you have confidence in him/her. I think your BP also needs investigation in case it is not BS related. Best wishes.

    Carpel Tunnel syndrome

Also had both hands done. Back at work after 2 days (office worker at the time) and driving, safely, after a week. I'm lucky to be a good, quick healer and so your return to work really does depend on the type of work you do and how well you heal. But do be careful for a couple of days after the...

How many eggs can you eat?

I've been Type 1 for 43 years and have never had any problems with eggs in whatever form. In fact, because they don't have carbs they're a great way of filling that hunger gap between meals without having to worry about either carbs or additional insulin. I usually have a couple of boiled eggs...
