Hello I'm Dan and I was diagnosed back in 2001 when I was 4 and I'm now 20 and basically had diabetes since I can remember. Wouldn't say my control is amazing but I get by, would love to get to know some other young T1s and how they cope aswell as making some friends :)

I use a FreeStyle Optium and the other day I had ketone levels of 1.6 and 1.4

Recently I've swapped to cans of Sanpellegrino and Orangina plenty of sugars and Carbs in both which get to work quickly.

So the past few days I've had some higher than normal blood sugars. I use my normal correction ratio however due to the ketones that I had my blood sugars won't drop down to desired levels. So I was wondering how others would counter this? Would you give extra insulin or would you do more...
