    Faulty Libre 2 Plus sensors?

Not sure if the really hot weather we have been having plays havoc with the sensors - not the blood glucose levels as I lived in South America (Peru and Brazil) when I first went on insulin, but fingerpricking - maybe sweat causing it? After the one sensor that recorded incredibly low, then one...

    Diabetic review process

I was due my next 6-monthly review and beginning to wonder if I should initiate contact when I got an appointment sent from by GP practice, asking me to take a urine sample. I went and was met by a nurse I know well from previous visits, but who is not my diabetic nurse, and clearly not...

    Faulty Libre 2 Plus sensors?

Whenever I get a really unusual reading I do test with a fingerprick, and it is usually between 4 and 6 units higher than the CGM (which I have been told is "normal"!), though sometimes a bit lower on really high readings. I woke with the CGM reading 3.2 a few weeks ago, and a fingerprick said...

blood glucose constantly running in 20s

When I started on Insulin I was stuck in Peru due to the pandemic! I finally managed to see a doctor who prescribed it, and he gave me the number of a nurse who would come round and show me how to use it, starting on a low dose. When I called her she refused to come due to the pandemic, and...

    Faulty Libre 2 Plus sensors?

I have been using Libre 2 Plus sensors for some time now, with very few problems. About 6 months ago I had to get one replaced as the "probe" bent on application, but other than that they have worked well. Yes, I get frustrated when I get unexpected spikes, but on the whole it has made me a bit...

    What’s going on?

Are your readings from fingerprick or CGM? I cannot offer any advice - except you should probably talk to your diabetic specialist - but I am on a CGM and find that my reading do vary wildly, but for no apparent reason. I avoid all "visible" carbs (bread, potatoes, rice, pasta, sugar) and still...

Libre 2 Plus - new sensor readings

That last sensor came to an end today - throughout the 15 days I got most readings "in range" (but higher fingerprick readings!) which did my averages no end of good! Replaced the sensor today and the new one would not start up - the App recognised the new sensor but couldn't get a reading...

    Test Strip Expiry date.

Once while overseas I got readings in the low 20's, much higher than I had ever had before - and found the strips were way out of date! I bought some new ones locally and my readings went back to normal 8-10 range. It did scare the heck out of me, though!

Libre 2 Plus - new sensor readings

Update - sensor just showed 3.8, so did a fingerprick (new Contour test kit) which was 11.5. I don't believe either from past experience this time of day, eating habits. Phone App has just come up with "sensor error" (as I was typing), then shows 9.5, but the low readings have gone from the...

Libre 2 Plus - new sensor readings

I am not one who stresses out about my blood sugar readings - too old and chilled to worry about anything much - but I have do have some thoughts/queries about Libre readings. Anyone else notice large differences between before/after replacing sensors? On December 15 I replaced the sensor, and...

2 weeks into Freestyle Libre 2 Plus "trial"

Other than every time I pick my phone up (:)), usually before a meal - and it always seems to start rising in anticipation! - a while after the meal, on rising and before bed. Since replacing the sensor yesterday I went out of range briefly around 21.00, presumably effects of evening meal, even...

2 weeks into Freestyle Libre 2 Plus "trial"

Changed for a new (scheduled) sensor at 13.00 today, and since then I have not had my usual post-lunch spike, but stayed within range, which, though pleasing, is unexpected! I am a creature of habit so tend to eat at regular times, eat similar meals (for example my evening meal is always a...

CGM Sensors on prescription for Type 2 diabetics

I did manage to arrange this once as I was going to Brazil for a month, but stayed away for almost 2! I was OK for insulin, fortunately (as they issued double for me), but managed to source the others locally there without prescription!

CGM Sensors on prescription for Type 2 diabetics

My GP do not give out physical prescriptions any more, at least not in my case, but they go through digitally to the pharmacy. I still have to sign in to the App and request them, though, but there is always a "cannot re-order before date"! They do, however, give me 2 months supply of almost...

CGM Sensors on prescription for Type 2 diabetics

Even on repeat I have to go through the GP's online request service. It "should" be a formality, but recently there have been delays, though usually within the 5 working days. This morning - 4 working days! - it was still showing as outstanding (not yet approved), so I called and explained that...
