Freestyle Libre 2 - constant false signal loss alarms

Unfortunately not. The CCG is quite, er, targeted in its approach to who is commissioned for what service. Add to this their glacial approach to change and I don't see much changing in the near future. Wont stop me trying though.

Freestyle Libre 2 - constant false signal loss alarms

Just started using the Libre 2 yesterday. I'm getting multiple loss of signal issues already. This is a big issue for me since I have low hypo awareness. I was using the Dexcom G6, but that is now only supported in my area (Shropshire) for insulin pump users, so I was put onto L2 because it has...

Renewing 3 year licence - number of hypos

Hi all, I've got the 3 year licence renewal paperwork through. Since I'm now using a Dexcom, I've been able to run my BG level at a lower level, averaging 7.6 mmol/l and not the 10 - 15 I was before. However, I do get more low warnings and more hypos. How do DVLA take this into account? is...

    Acute pancreatitis and diabetes meds

Hi Danny, Do you take creon? That can have some unpleasant side effects in the gas department. Your pancreatitis sounds similar to mine, although i managed to dodge the intensive care part. With type 3C diabetes, watch out for hypos. Not only does the pancreas create insulin to keep blood...

GP just told me not to drive. Help

Thanks for all the replies so quickly. I found i was getting low by doing a routine 2- hour test while driving(4.7). Since this was below 5 and around lunchtime we decided to stop & eat, only my blood went lower still and i started to feel it then. I think the problem i have is that I'm not...

GP just told me not to drive. Help

Ok, so I've just come back from my gp appointment where i said that i had a hypo while driving without being aware i was hypo. The doc said not to drive until fitness to drive has been assessed by the diabetes team and has referred me for an urgent consultation. Now I've got home and...

What do I call my diabetes

I had acute pancreatitis caused by gallstones in August last year. I have about 5%of my pancreas left. My GP refers to me as a type 1, but the DSN says I'm not a true type 1because i can still produce some insulin. I refer to my diabetes as either type 3c or insulin dependent.

Twice daily insulin & carb counting

Thanks both. I'm still finding this all a bit overwhelming. Sometimes I go to bed hungry and sometimes, like last night, i push the boat out with carbs and then wake up at 2.00 am with a hypo. Clearly some learning to do:) I'm getting an appointment with the dsn soon and I'll chase up my...

Twice daily insulin & carb counting

Hi All, I'm on a twice daily insulin (Novomix 30) and I find myself eating to my insulin dose and not adjusting the dose to what I eat. I have some variation in my dose; usually +/- 2 units depending what I eat. Do others find the same problem on a twice daily regimen? I'm trying to get an...

    Type 1 Advice!

Fogive me hijacking your thread; I'm seeing my diabetes nurse this week to ask the same question. I'm on a twice daily insulin regimen at the moment, so I'm not sure how to increase the insulin for the xmas carb-fest.

Type 3c - how many are we?

I had severe acute pancreatitis in August. I have no pancreas left now, so it's insulin and creon for me. The GP couldn't classify me as T3c because their computer system only allows T1 & T2 I'm definitely a life* member of the T3c club *I was very nearly not a life...Much thanks to the...

    When you first inform them....

I completed my forms and returned them to DVLA in early september. Its now mid dec, and their doctors are still looking at it. Mabne I've confused the DVLA by saying that I'm T3c. This and only having monocular vision may well mean they have to ghink outside their (tick) box. Edit: speeling

    First HbA1c since diagnosis

Thanks Doc. I'm especially pleased becauss there was no honeymoon period. I had severe pancreatitis which has left me with no pancreas at all. I went from insulin producing to no insulin production in about 24 hours and straight onto a sliding scale in hosp.

    Hello, I'm new here

Hi all, I'm Pete, Following a recent episode of acute pancreatitis, I'm now a new diabetic, T3c I believe. Except my GP is calling it T1 even though I've got almost no pancreas left. I'm still waiting for the dead remains of my pancreas to be drained and then to have my gall bladder...
