    diabetes type 1 and relationships

I have to say that while I am impressed that you can do this (seriously I am I think that's amazing :) ), because I, and am sure lots of other people, can't do this as it is an irrational period when it happens - I feel it is very important for your family and friends to understand to the...

    diabetes type 1 and relationships

Hi All, I recently split with a long term girlfriend and is it just me? or is very hard to keep a relationship going with a non-diabetic person? I have noticed that I can be very terribly irritable and snap during moments of stress and highs and lows etc - and even though i've tried to...

Is always being tired an occupational hazard of a type 1?

I feel your pain! it's hard to get the balance right, near impossible! I have to admit feeling loads better since I started using levimar. I've recently cut down my carb intake but it's too early to tell if it's having an effect or not yet  :)

Is always being tired an occupational hazard of a type 1?

ah, i'm sorry to say that in my experience if you are having consistently high (above 10's anyway) then it will make you feel more tired anyway, never mind the insulin you are on :( and the only way to combat it is by doing a little more exercise and bringing your BG down to better levels.

    Do you ever wonder why?

21 years and 14 days ago I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. I've wondered most my life about why or how. After many years of thought I now believe that a trigger of a virus or maybe some other antibody causes your own body to malfunction and kill off it's own cells, seeing them as not one of...

Is always being tired an occupational hazard of a type 1?

I've a small update to anyone who is interested. I came off lantus in october and started using levimar. I normally have 2 doses of it although they do say that you can manage on just one, i find 2 to work better for me. I started to notice that I do not get any where near as tired as I used...

Is always being tired an occupational hazard of a type 1?

To be honest it's a strange phenomenon. I have had type 1 for 20 years and it's only recently (within 3 years) that this is happening. I'm over tired a lot and at least 2 or 3 times a week I fall asleep in front of PC, can you imagine what it's like? can you imagine what my colleagues and bosses...

Is always being tired an occupational hazard of a type 1?

I've had this problem for a couple of years and am now falling asleep mid day a lot in front of my pc. I have had a million and one tests and all clear, but, now I think about it, it does coincide to roughly when I started on lantus! This has been very frustrating and I will now discuss this...
