Medtronic Simplera Sync sensors not available to order

Unfortunately, I was recently advised by my hospital’s diabetes consultant that I’m low priority for the Simplera, even when it’s back on stream again. This may partly be that the G4’s work well with me. It seems that the NHS in my area will understandably continue to prioritise pregnant and...

    Medtronic 780G Pump

Hi Ricky. The standard infusion sets should be changed every three days and the extended sets up to seven days. So if you’re near to the deadline you could change the set then. It’s good to know you’re off to a good start and your control should continue to improve as your pump gets to ‘know’...

Medtronic Simplera Sync sensors not available to order

That could well be an issue. Also the required software upgrade for Simplera may render the G4’s unusable. It would be worth asking as Medtronic clearly have some obligation here.

Medtronic Simplera Sync sensors not available to order

I’m surprised Medtronic didn’t offer the previous G[emoji640]’s in lieu of the Simplera as they appear to have a good supply. I would think there should be no NHS approval required with the G[emoji640]’s being presumably cheaper.

    High after changes made

Hi Sasha. It does sound like your carb ratios need adjusting. As a quick help to try and lower your present level have you clicked the bottom arrow key when you’re on the Home Screen? It would be interesting to know if it suggests a Bolus adjustment which you could deliver.

78[emoji646]g and Simplera reading vastly different to Blood Glucose

It might be possible that an earlier BG test would have been nearer to the Simplera’s [emoji638][emoji637].[emoji637] owing to the time lag. I’m not using the Simplera yet, but if it’s anything like the G[emoji640] the results should soon be more aligned as SmartGuard takes effect.

Information on Pumps for my Son

Generally, you do need to enter meal carbs in order to optimise your time in target range. However, from experience, if you were to forget, the pump would bring you back on target, but it could take hours depending on the number and type of carbs taken (fast or slow release?). I don’t see any...

    Medtronic G[emoji640] Transmitter

I’m also NHS funded and I was surprised that my hospital’s approval wasn’t needed. I’m pretty sure it was on previous occasions.

    Medtronic G[emoji640] Transmitter

Following an issue with connecting my transmitter - a call to Medtronic Support confirmed my transmitter is just out of warranty and with their guidance they couldn’t connect it either. So it was declared to be faulty. I’m advised that my replacement transmitter is ‘on back order’ with no...

    Issues with highs - 780g

Just a thought, but have you tried using a new site for your cannulas, well away from your previous ones? I was recently running higher than usual for a few weeks until I tried a new location from upper to lower abdomen and it seems to have worked.

Medtronic extend ware infusion sets only last 4 days

Thanks for bringing this to my attention and it’s certainly a revelation to me. This now appears to go beyond this forum - questions need to answered…..

Medtronic extend ware infusion sets only last 4 days

I’ve been using the extended sets for just over a year and I personally find them really good. From what I’ve learnt the sets may look similar to the 3 day version, but they aren’t the same. I believe Medtronic is reluctant to give details as it’s commercially sensitive. I’ve rarely had a...

    Simplera email

I recently asked Medtronic about this and it will need ‘hospital team’ approval. I would imagine there will be a cost implication.

    Replacing pump

Despite it feeling like a setback, I went through the ‘learning’ process with my replacement pump last year. Afterwards it all seemed to work the same as before. Assuming you don’t need any changes, it’s important to make sure you enter the same settings.
