    Off insulin for a while.

They took a few blood tests and after seeing that metformin hadn't really helped after 5 days they put me on insulin. Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

    Off insulin for a while.

For the past few days I haven't taken any insulin and my levels have been great providing I eat well. I was diagnosed as type 1 and have been managing on a pump. When I was diagnosed my blood glucose was 33 and trace ketones. Any chance I could be type 2 instead? I'm very active and slim...

    Should I detach pump??

Thanks. Yeah, I had the basal rate to the lowest and still had hypos when it said there was no insulin on board. Gonna keep it off for the day and just test before meals I think to see what happens. I'm moving house tomorrow though so I'm not sure what to do about that. Stress may increase it...

    Should I detach pump??

Going through honeymoon phase and having problems with hypos. Even with the basal reduced to minimum 0.025 and rarely taking bolus I am still experiencing hypos! The lowest one today was 2.6. Should I just take it off?? I have tried to contact my diabetes nurse but she is away and no one else...

    Question for women?

Do you find that "that time of the month" effects your BG? Higher or lower? This is only my second month so I can't really tell if my honeymoon is acting up or the pain(I get bad pains). Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

    Insulin reduced to nothing.

Are you just eating the same as you normally would or have you been dieting. Must be nice to be free from injections for a little while? Mine was 33 too and was put on similar amounts in the beginning but had come way down. Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

    Insulin reduced to nothing.

What was your blood glucose on diagnosis? I am currently in honeymoon period and taking less than 5 units of basal and bolus combined. Still experiencing hypo on this amount so gonna reduce it further today. Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

    Hypo and Reducing Insulin

You're right. I'm going to give her a call this morning as I have been feeling a bit of nausea too. I'm grateful for the pump. From my little time on injections I can see that it would be very difficult around activity. Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

    Hypo and Reducing Insulin

What's the least amount of insulin that would be considered too small to keep taking it? I know that might be a silly question. I am just wondering that if you only take a certain amount per day could you take medication to do the same thing? Such as metformin? My insulin requirement are...
