Is this stress or something else

Sounds almost like ibs to me which can be caused by stress. I agree with Lucy that you should see your doctor and get checked over. I have ibs and peppermint tea helps when my stomach is misbehaving.

Getting chilly - what to wear

I'd wear a long-sleeved thermal top under something reflective.

What's your weight loss today/this week?

I've been doing the 'nurse your dying mother through a rare aggressive cancer which kills her in 3 weeks and then have to contend with 2 ***** sisters who just want the money before she is cold in her coffin' diet. I'd not recommend it, but have found that I've lost 3 lbs, taking me down to 8...

Type 2's: What was your fasting blood glucose in a morning?

Re: Type 2's : What was your fasting blood glucose in a morn Your levels are going in the right direction Pepper - downwards :) When my levels hit 10.7 last week due to awful stresses I felt absolutely dreadful. I was physically shaking and my nice sister and aunt were worried that I was...

    Diabetes and Stress

My mother died early yesterday morning three weeks and one day after she called the doctor because she was breathless. Mantel cell lymphoma is the most vicious cancer I have ever seen. The only consolations as she was literally shrivelled before my eyes was that she was in no pain and that she...

    Diabetes and Stress

My stupid sugar levels are all over the place at the moment due to stress and toasted tea cakes. In the mornings I have had all-time lows in the low 4's and then been up above 6 for the first time in over 9 months on other days. My 82-year old mum has gone from being super-fit to terminally...

    When to exercise

I exercise 45 minutes to one hour after eating to knock back my sugar levels. I find that cardiac work puts my levels up, but fast walking and aerobic exercise brings them down.

What is your GP/DN HBA1c target

The first time I saw the Diabetic Nurse she told me to aim for 7.0. I haven't seen her again as I prefer to see my GP who I feel is more supportive. My GP just said the lower the better with no set figure and is absolutely delighted with my results.

    Diabetes and Stress

Thanks for the replies :) badcat, that is a great explanation - thank you! It really just goes to show that once a diabetic, always a diabetic. It's always lurking in the shadows to catch you out. I had to drive down to Yorkshire this morning as it looks as though my mum has leukemia at the...

    Diabetes and Stress

I had my diabetes beautifully under control with nice low fasting levels, but in the last couple of weeks everything has gone wonky  I'm not doing anything differently, I follow my usual regimes which have worked like a treat until now, but my fasting levels are now up as are my levels...

    Superfoods

They are £1 for 2 in our local Tesco at the moment and I've been bulk-buying. Otherwise I buy bags of them and discard the green ones. However now 'newly-graduated and unable to get a job' son is living at home, he'll probably consume the green ones along with all the other food in this house :D

    Superfoods

My superfood is peppers - red, yellow and orange ones. I can eat up to 4 raw ones a day quite happily :D
