Newbie with Insulin Resistance, on the cusp of being full T2D and having huge diabetic Neuropathy symptoms

Btw, I did post a screen shot from Dr. Bernstein's book about how you can get pain once the nerves begin to heal, but it got rejected because I'm a newbie. Unfortunately I can't copy and paste from the kindle. Let's see if I can find it somewhere else.

Newbie with Insulin Resistance, on the cusp of being full T2D and having huge diabetic Neuropathy symptoms

Good job! Regarding the neuropathy pain, I’ve read that that could happen when you start to normalize your bg and the nerves start to work again. If you’re consistent with your bg control, the pain should go away but by bit. I’ll see if I can find where I read it. Keep up the good work!

Newbie with Insulin Resistance, on the cusp of being full T2D and having huge diabetic Neuropathy symptoms

A great way to put on weight in a healthy way is by building your muscle mass. When people talk about wanting to lose weight, they often mean they want to shed fat. After all, losing just any weight isn't always the answer—in that were the case just chop off a leg and there to go! Building...

    Cholesterol again!

TSH is a bit above normal. Though remember, normal is not optimal. Here in the us normal is 0.4 - 4.0, that’s a 10 fold difference! Go look it up but optimal levels are way lower than 4. You mentioned you’re slim. Have you heard of Dave Feldman’s hyperresponders? They are slim athletic types...

    LOW CARB SUCCESS STORIES

As a T1, the best way I can summarize the benefit of low carb: “The Law of Small Numbers” from Dr. Bernstein. The less carbs, the less insulin, the less insulin, the smaller the mistakes. It’s not a cure or anything of the sort, you still have to be on your toes but it makes T1 way more...

    Cholesterol again!

Forgot to mention. What was your thyroid level? I imagine it was a TSH test only? The reason I ask is because hypothyroidism is linked to high cholesterol. I have Hashimoto’s, the moment I got it under control, my cholesterol came down.

    Cholesterol again!

Your HDL/trig ratio is great and your LDL is not that high. Remember, there’s no such thing as a statin deficiency. "There's a hundred percent cure for high cholesterol, which is never to do the test again." Dr. Tom Cowan Read anything from Dr. Malhotra. There’s a documentary named “First...

    Keto with T1 diabetes

That’s one of the biggest misconceptions. Ketones that are used for energy when you become fat adapted and keto acidosis which is when you’re ketones go extremely high most likely caused by a lack of insulin.
