Im Perry, 44 years old and from the Netherlands. Im diagnosed with type 1 and my blood sugar is out of control. My HBA1C is 120mmol/120mol. I don't know how to a grip on it. Im at my wits end.
Just a T2 here, so nowhere near in the same boat as you. But I have seen a couple of T1's and the like on here who couldn't get a handle on things either, until they went (moderately?) low carb in addition to their insulin regime. If there's less to inject for, management often becomes easier. Just don't over-do it, or you're having hypo's all over the place. I am going from the assumption though that you aren't on a fixed dose? Can you carb count and adjust dosages for meals?Im Perry, 44 years old and from the Netherlands. Having posted a reply to your message concerning numbness and tingling in the feet, this post gives me relevant information. I think you should seek medical advice on how best to manage your blood sugar. Once this improves, your feet stand a better chance. I had 20 years of poorly managed Type1 and, thanks to a superb hospital team, have good feeling in my feet even now, 46 years later. The thing is to deal with all this as soon as you can. High blood sugar readings in my case caused lethargy and apathy. As soon as I was read the Riot Act in 1979, life was so much better. I hope things improve soon.Im Perry, 44 years old and from the Netherlands. Im diagnosed with type 1 and my blood sugar is out of control. My HBA1C is 120mmol/120mol.
