    Stress and blood sugar

Sorry to hear that. Whenever I go through a stressful period, for eg exams .. my sugars go haywire. The worst was when I had major family problems and it was consistently high (18+) for 3 days in a row even when I tried to control it.

Benefits of type 1 (positive little story)

After graduating and feeling hopeless about finding a full time job that is suited to me for quite awhile now (although truthfully I had been applying in a lazy 'now and again' way!) I got a phone call from a good company and for an exciting/suitable position. The phone interview went extremely...

Could not feel my hypo yesterday at all, hypo unawareness?

Very reassuring to know that the body can be retrained :) This is definitely true for me too, so I guess I shouldn't panic too much unless it becomes a regular thing. Totally relate to the dream-like state feeling too!! ahh that kind of shock low has happened to me a few times! you're...

Could not feel my hypo yesterday at all, hypo unawareness?

Greetings! Yesterday night, I was about to go to bed without checking as I had checked it relatively recently. My sister brought my monitor and said I should check it anyway. I was feeling completely fine but the reading showed 3.2.. and then I tried again... 3.5... then again.. 2.8.. I kept...

    Libre NHS criteria

According to my consultant, the criteria is set depending on the area you are in.. the criteria you mentioned is also harsh but my consultant mentioned many more like hospital admissions for severe hypos, an average hba1c of 69 and above.. and many more

Type 1: What are your HbA1c test results?

46, which i was happy with until i realised it's 7.4.. the diabetes team keep telling me how good it is but it could do with improvement

Anyone else have ''long'' hypos sometimes?

yess i've experienced this all too often, it's so frustrating when you're levels are telling you that you should be feeling fine but your body isnt corresponding!

I think I've become one of those annoying people that are always ill.

sorry to hear this! if it makes you feel any better, I'm exactly the same- all my friends tell me that I'm always ill (which i'm pretty sure is related to diabetes). I'm also worried about the future and when I get a job soon. We've just got to keep ploughing through, hugs x

    Libre NHS criteria

My doctor at central middlesex hospital wanted to give me the Libre as my sugars are sometimes erratic and I go low very often. She was shocked when she checked the criteria for our region.. she said it would exclude most diabetics and that she could only think of 5 people who would be eligible...

    Dramatic Lantus adjustments.. Daily

So a lot of you may think this system is completely crazy and dangerous, and admittedly it is, but I don't know what else to do. Up until around a year ago, I had been doing the normal thing of keeping the lantus dose roughly the same each day, this had worked very well for me for many years...

"Best" things doctors have said to you

    Tough day after Lantus overdose

Thank you all so much for your taking the time to reply to my post, it really means a lot to me to hear from people who can relate and understand (especially as I feel uncomfortable repeatedly saying these things to friends who might not understand). I’m feeling much better today and hope to...

    Tough day after Lantus overdose

I’ve had a really tough day today. I couldn’t go into work as I felt like I was in a trance all day, as if I was completely lifeless. I woke up very low and then went back to sleep after treating it with juice. I slept for hours during the day. My sugars kept going low throughout the day and I...

    Faulty insulin pen needles

Hi everyone, Over the last couple of months my GP changed my usual insulin pen needles to PenFine needles ( this one: https://www.mylife-diabetescare.co.uk/mylife-penfine-classic-overview.html) but on the rare occasion, I've noticed that a needle was faulty. Disappointingly, I would usually...
