Normal pregnancy up to about 35 weeks then showing signs of pre eclampsia and offered an elective Caesarian. This came sooner rather than later...

    Help

My dad has been told he has heart failure, kidney failure and liver failure and that there is nothing they can do for him apart from medication. He has had type 1 for 50 years. Has anybody else experienced anything like this? I feel like we are waiting for one or all the organs to pack up.

    Dad

Thank you we've expressed our feelings about the smoking and drinking and he does realise the risks. Think he sees it as his only enjoyment in life, very negative about diabetes. Just concerned about the cancer scare, scab and hip pain?

    Reversal of diabetes complications? Type1

Yes that book is my bible! Tight blood sugar control is the only way to reverse damage and you can only get tight blood sugar control with low carbing. Good luck

Low carb and low stomach acid

Thank you both but all back to normal! Noticed my sugars crept up when I changed my insulin cartridge. They were around 11.5 all day for a couple of days. Changed my cartridge and slowly everything returned to normal. I have read a lot about gastroparesis and I wasn't experiencing nausea...

    Low carb

Been low carbing nearly two weeks about 20g carbs a day The problem is no weight loss at all! My blood sugars have been low 3.9 average so adjusting insulin via pump to sort this out Could the low blood sugars be stopping weight loss?

    Counting carbs

Started low carbing after reading Dr Bernsteins book but finding the salad bit really hard to work out! He says a cup full (I assume American 250ml) is equivalent to 6g carbs that seems a very small amount of salad to me for 6g? Any advice anyone? Sent from the Diabetes Forum App

    hypos

I am a type 1 diabetic and my dad is also. As a teenager I witnessed him having many hypos and struggled with my mum to help him recover. It's not a nice experience and I totally understand how you must be feeling. Have tubes of glucose tablets around the house in the car and on you if you go...
