Hi i just wanted to find out has anyone had sucess in reversing diabetes complications and what complications did you have and how did you reverse it or get it better.

Hi @static192 ,

First I'm not type 1, so anything I say may not apply to you.
However, I have a blood glucose disorder.
I was really going down the pan steadily, in fact, until diagnosis, I believe I would be in my coffin now!
All my vital signs and all my health problems were steadily getting worse and if I listed my symptoms, some severe, some hidden, some not so bad, but in total, I was desperate for help and my life was a drudge. I was approaching seventeen stone, my liver was fatty,my BP was through the roof, kidney problems, heart and I was very unfit, no energy and so on and so forth.

I was being treated by my GP for T2, when I didn't have it! I was on a diet that put on weight and was literally killing me!

Now a few years later of great control and being in ketosis, all my health problems have been put to bed. A lo carb lifestyle along with exercise, a gliptin to help and I'm fitter and healthier than I have been for decades.....

It's very rare anyone dies of diabetes but they do because of bad control causing complications. Good control is the answer to most blood glucose disorders.
Also in my case, it lead to getting my health back.

I cannot recommend the lifestyle more highly, it works!

The more knowledge you gain, the more you can tailor it to your own life.

As I opened with, it may not apply to you. But do read the success stories thread on the forum and see what a low carb lifestyle has helped so many posters to be in control. And not suffer from complications and improve their life

Its nice to hear that you reversed your complications and are doing well if you dont mind me asking how many years did it take for you to reverse your complications

I have a photograph of myself about four Christmases ago. And I'm somewhat five stone heavier so I just don't remember it. Due to symptoms, just can't remember it and it was Christmas. So it wasn't long after I was upsetting my GPs at the surgery mithering them about my health.
I am still controlling my blood glucose levels and still losing weight. But have been in control for over two years now.
Things started getting better as soon as I realised that the diet and weight loss was actually working. That was about a month to six weeks before my endocrinologist diagnosed me properly. And just before my hospital stay for a prolonged fasting test. Which was brilliant because my mind cleared of all the symptomatic problems that had dogged me for quite a while.
My problem and I have to live with it, is at this present time, there isn't a cure, just my sitagliptin to help with my hypers and hypos and not eating food that I am in all realities allergic to. I will be eating like this for the rest of my life, if I want to be healthy!

Yes, i think Bernstein's ideas would be a interesting for you.
Have you heard of him?
At 40, he had many worsening T1 complications, but since then has reversed all but the worst damage to his feet. He is now well over 80 and still practicing as a doctor.

Yes that book is my bible! Tight blood sugar control is the only way to reverse damage and you can only get tight blood sugar control with low carbing. Good luck
