    HBa1C results: slow and steady?

Does anybody know- in general is it routine to test non-HDL cholesterol levels at the same time as glucose levels. The hospital haven’t done this so presumably it wasn’t requested by the surgery either. (I’m going to check with them). As Rachox has said, I can’t make an informed decision about...

    HBa1C results: slow and steady?

So, last week’s test shows I’ve dropped from 45 back in May to 42 now, so still just within the prediabetes reference range. Slow and steady wins the race I guess and I have lost nearly two stone since then . Bugs me that they didn’t test my cholesterol levels though , so I’ve still got this...

Yes, I’m wondering the same thing on tge linked thread. My cholesterol level was 6 four months ago; just had it retested this morning , so we’ll find out if levels have dropped soon. I’m prediabetic and was told that that number is counted as high , putting my Qrisk (of a cardiac event over the...

    Statin side-effects?

I’m interested to know, did you go not Ezetimibe straight away or did you try out statins first? I’d thought that the formers iquite a recent med and that statins are usually the first meds to be recommended.

    Statin side-effects?

Think the dose suggested by the pharmacist was very low, so hopefully (any) side effects would be minimal. Yes the whole nocebo thing and peoples’ suggestibility is a complication. I’ve tolerated beta blockers for over five years now and most of the side effects people report haven’t happened...

    Statin side-effects?

Yes had a bit of a read about it, Hopefully if there was an initial rise, it’ll have levelled out by now.

    Statin side-effects?

Ah…skew negatively, do you mean? I was told that losing weight generally indicates that your cholesterol level is dropping.
