Fingers crossed for you, bd viva gave me red marble like lumps, I think the silicone coating on Microdot made the difference for me. Do make a fuss if bd viva don’t work for you as I am sure this caused some absorption problems for me.
Hello. Lots of good suggestions already however I found Novorapid took at least 1.5 hrs to kick in with me and when I switched to Fiasp things were so much better. Have you asked to try a different insulin to see if it might suit you better? I’m now on Admelog and find that works well but for me...
Hi Yes ditto, ‘Microdot’ silicone coated needles 8 mm worked the best for me. Not perfect but better than the others. Interestingly I switched to a pump this year and have no problem with this.
Hi LeoM I am also Type 1 with the same problem for the last 6 years, I have seen endocrinologists and hospital eye clinic who have given me the answers you have from Old un and Lamont. The endo I saw last year told me a small percentage of Type 1’s have their vision effected with high/rapidly...
Yes a couple of years ago I kept getting them. Finally I spoke with a urologist who gave me a completely different course of antibiotics for a week not 3 days and I now take DMannose every day as a preventative measure and I haven’t had another UTI since.
Hello Yes, I have type 1 and it often seems to change from day to day. It’s very very fustrating sometimes but I try really hard to just deal with whatever is happening at the moment. I do keep records and this has helped identify some triggers ( I am not just talking about food) and I do lots...
I have been in this situation about half a dozen times, I would go with very small amounts at one time, then a couple of hours later another spoon of something. Your digestive system will need to get back on track so take it steady. I Have often seen jelly pots in hospital, sometimes low sugar...
Hello Really sorry to hear you are in hospital with Covid and other complications. I am type 1 however was very ill with Covid, DKA and a chest infection in March. I know from a blood test only a couple of weeks before I was highly positive for antibodies and I had 3 vaccines too. My BG wasn’t...
Hello
Sorry to hear you have all these symptom, and I know ‘the not knowing’ is very worrying. I would ask for a print out of your recent blood test results and see what they tested. To establish if you are diabetic you need a HbA1c test as part of your blood test. Once you have that and IF it...
Hi I have just read your post with interest, for the last 3 years I have had terrible hip joint pain that goes down the back of my leg! I will discuss my insulin with my nurse later this month, I am on Levemir and Fiasp. Thanks for posting I would never have thought there might be a connection here.
Hello It doesn’t sound like she is wearing a continuous blood glucose monitor? As she is Type 1 the GP will issue a Libre (I am hoping you are in the Uk?) the Libre 2 has alarms which would alert her to any problem in time before things got too serious. I would be on the phone to the GP asking...
Have you emailed them requesting this? Or did they just give you a verbal no?
I think I would write a polite and short email saying if they are unable to give online access could they print a copy of your latest full blood test results and post it you
just found this online...
I am pretty sure your doctor is obliged to give you a print out of all your blood test results which will have the full breakdown or ask them to email it to you. I don’t think they can say no to this request.
