Hello Everyone. I have read that HIIT Training is not good if you have diabetic retinopathy. Basically the high intensity level of the training can cause the blood vessels in the eyes to burst which could lead to blindness. I like do HIIT Training. I do about 3 times a week for 15 minutes. Now I...
Hi Everyone just wanted to let know my drivers licence has be renewed. I passed my visual field test and medical history was what they required. So I am very happy. Thank you all for your advice
The test was not to renew my licence. I passed my test in February 2015 and was given a 3 year licence. In March I was diagnosed with diabetic retinopathy. I had 3 sessions of laser treatment in September and was told by the doctor that I have to inform the DVLA. I am guessing they will have the...
I think I may have missed the lights flashing right at the bottom on a few occasions. I did see the lights centrally and to my right and left quite well. I really do not know how the DVLA will view my results. So now I am worried. I think someone stated that if I failed they will let me know by...
I just finished my visual field test with Specsavers for the DVLA. I feel it went ok. I did miss a few lights. Does anyone know how long before the DLVA makes a decision.
I missed my appointment last week because I got my dates mixed up. I am hopeful they will not till me I have to wait 2 months for a new appointment because I am getting a little concerned now
Hi everyone. I had laser eye surgery in October 2015 to treat diabetic retinopathy. I was seeing eye floaters and my eye doctor recommend three sessions of laser eye surgery in both eyes. I am still seeing the occasional floaters, not as bad as before but I am very concerned that the laser...
Hi everyone and thanks for your advice. I had my laser eye surgery yesterday on my right eye. I will have the left eye done in two weeks. My eyes feel sensitive, my vision seems to be ok. Before the surgery the doctor told me that I could loose some peripheral vision and loose my ability to...
Thank you all for your help and support. Diabetes can be very confusing even if you have been a Diabetic for a while. I think forum like these offer great support to people like me. I will keep you guys updated on my progress with the Humalog Insulin.
Sorry forgot to mention that the reason she suggested Humalog is because I was not too keen on going on 4 injection per day regime. I would have inject the fast acting Insulin 3 times per day and then the Lantus once per day.
Hi managed to see the Diabetic Nurse today and she was quite amazed that the GP only gave me Lantus. She suggested that I go back on a mixed Insulin Humalog.
my levels before I went to bed was 8.5. I checked again at 3am and it was then 8.9. I checked At 5.30am and it was 9.8. It seems to be going up. I also went to the toilet a lot last night. I only had vegetables and chicken for dinner. The GP changed my Insulin yesterday from Humalin M3 to...
I wish my surgery was like that. I honestly think if I turned up they would just say that the Diabetic Nurse was in appointments and could not see me and then they would try and force me to see a GP. Whenever i tried to see a Diabetic Nurse at short notice they have always push me into the care...
I will call my Surgery to check if I can move the DN appointment earlier I have a feeling they will tell me that they do not have any Diabetic Nurses available until my appointment. My surgery never seems to have staff available or maybe it is the NHS being under staff. I am sure they will try...
