    Pancreatic Insufficiency (EPI)

Hi, I buy Digestizyme from Natures Best, I think you should get free treatment, my dr didn’t want to do any tests on me so I have to buy these but they have been amazing

    Pancreatic Insufficiency (EPI)

Hi, that’s so interesting as I actually started taking digestive enzymes as a last resort for the IBS I I assumed I had developed around the same time of my type 1 diagnosis 3 years ago. I found immediate relief from all the digestive pain/bloat etc and take one before every meal. I brought this...

    Hair loss

It’s distressing isn’t it, it will get better though, sending hugs. There’s a few other things to try too like scalp massage (I used YouTube) and the Ordinary multi peptide hair serum or other similar hair serums x

    Hair loss

Hi, I had hair loss for about a year leading up to my T1 diagnosis but like Mrs HJG was/am perimenopausal so it could also have been that. I take high strength biotin tablets now but it definitely started to grow back once I started insulin

    Basal issues help!!

Thanks, did a covid test and checking ketones. My bloods have never been this bad even when I had covid, it’s a shocker of a cold though. Think coincided with higher basal needs too, bad timing, and I’m the week before my period but feel marginally less awful than yesterday so heyho! I seem to...

    Basal issues help!!

Thanks, turns out it was a really really bad cold (and needing to up my basal I think anyway) Funny how the body knows we are unwell before we do I’ve not had such a stinker since diagnosis and can’t seem to get bloods under control, insulin is like water just now but hoping I turn a corner...

explaining what it's really like to live with Type 1

On a good day it’s totally manageable, good days can span weeks and you feel pretty good about how you manage this. Then along comes a cold, a hormone fluctuation, stress, weather change, random insulin requirement change and then you can feel really despondent. It can be exhausting, keeping an...

When you split the dose, how big do you make the gap?

Totally relate! Seems to be trial and error, make notes of certain meals and how it affects you maybe, sometimes there can be a pattern. I stumbled upon 45 minutes after the first bolus for anything breaded (and then the ‘’rules’’ changed of course) Seems to be different for all of us but very...

    Basal issues help!!

Thanks, called 111 and waiting for someone to call back with a prescription hopefully. Bloods are ok now thanks, lots of walking, novorapid, wee bits of salmon and fish, nuts and a glass of wine (out for someone’s birthday lunch aargh)

    Basal issues help!!

So, I’ve been having a rough few days with the bloods and spoke to the diabetes team yesterday and confirmed it’s looking like basal issues! I’m usually 8 units in the morning of Tresiba but for the last week (since starting new box Tresiba) have been climbing high through the night and waking...

    out of control sugar levels

Hi, I have a rough time with mine too - hormones!! I’ve read that some women increase their basal, best to chat to your diabetes team first, but I find that tricky as I’m perimenopausal and on Tresiba as my basal so it’s a little less flexible. I try to eat less carbs the week before and have to...

Found a solution to my foot-on-the-floor!

Oh no I hope I didn’t come across as rude, I genuinely don’t know how different foot on floor is for us all

Found a solution to my foot-on-the-floor!

Hi, I usually have them as I get into bed so about an hour or so before I sleep. I am finding that I go to sleep quicker since taking the pistachios which is nice. Fingers crossed it works for you too

Found a solution to my foot-on-the-floor!

That’s great, good to know nuts help others too….I’ve no idea why either! x

Found a solution to my foot-on-the-floor!

Hi, I’m not sure if it’s different for type 2 but foot on the floor for me is tricky as a type 1 as I need to inject for it as soon as I wake up and it impacts my breakfast and it’s often 11 am or later before I’m in good range
