Type 1 Dexcom and contraceptive implant

I use the dexcom G6 and wear on the back of my arm. I am considering getting the contraceptive implant but worried I won’t be able to use that arm for my dexcom anymore. Does anyone have this and continue to use the same arm for glucose monitor?

    Dexcom skin reaction

It’s not removal that’s the problem, I just get really itchy under the sensor from day 3

    Dexcom skin reaction

When you apply it, do you leave a space for the sensor?

    Dexcom skin reaction

I’ve started getting a reaction to my Dexcom, the last 3 I’ve had to remove early due to itching. The customer services team have suggested using a barrier spray or cream, is there one people would recommend? I’ve used trio Elisse in the past but never found it made much difference. Thanks

    Ypsomed Pump

The Ypsomed doesn’t have a function for calculating the amount of insulin required and you can only see the last dose given. You need to use the app to put your bm in and carbs for it to tell you the dose then you have to scroll to enter it on the pump. As for sending data to diabetes team, you...

    Ypsomed Pump

Sorry to jump into this a bit late but I’ve been on the Ypsomed for 2 and a bit years and I hate it. I chose it because it was small and light and for the orbital infusion sets. But the app is rubbish, the sets don’t stick and become blocked all the time. Oh and they disconnect a lot which means...

    Ypsopump

I have recently been changed to ypsopump from animas and now use pre-filled pump cartridges. I often have more than 50% of the insulin left when I change my set. My question is can I keep using the same cartridge just changing the infusion cannula? It seems so wasteful to throw it away. TIA

    Breastfeeding

Thanks, I was at a breastfeeding class today and they were quite anti-expressing before the baby comes as it can disrupt the natural process or something. Did you have any problems with the first feed?

    Breastfeeding

I intend to breastfeed and recently saw a dietician who advised trying to express a bit before birth to give to the baby if his blood sugars are low after birth and struggling to breastfeed. Has anyone done this? Just looking for some advice from some diabetic mums Thanks

Where to wear pump during labour?

I was at the clinic today, I'm 32weeks pregnant, they said that during labour you get put on a drip to manage diabetes so I won't be wearing my pump. Is this not right? They told me I can chose when to switch to the drip, either for the whole time from induction or once I am 4 cm dilated but...

    24 weeks pregnant

Thanks for all the advice and encouragement. I've had a much better day today, just being a bit braver with upping my basal. Seems to have done the trick, hopefully I can get some stability now.

    Aspirin

It's to control your blood pressure, pre-eclampsia is common in pregnancy for diabetics so they make you take aspirin to help stop it developing.

    24 weeks pregnant

Thanks for the advice. Think I'll call my dsn tomorrow see what she thinks. I've done the advanced bolus and I've also tried super bolus but it still goes high. At least if I'm eating less carbs it doesn't go quite as high.

    24 weeks pregnant

I have already increased my ratios but not having much luck with that either. I am trying to sort out my mornings cause that's when it's the worst. I thought if I had 0 carbs for my breakfast I would be able to see if it's my basal or my ratio that is the main problem. It seems to be my basal as...

    24 weeks pregnant

Saw her on Monday when she told me that my blood sugars were too high even the ones that I thought were ok. Since then it's like she pushed a button that made everything spiral out of control
