I must admit, I'm a little surprised that they don't just do a comprehensive set of bloods at the outset. Then again it never ceases to amaze that testing 'isn't required' for type 2 either!

Interesting post. I lost an unplanned 13 kg in 29 days (101 kg down to 88 kg)...and thats how I knew something was wrong! Down to 85 kg now, planning to reach 79 - 80 kg...so a similar percentage loss. Hoping to reverse by LCHF and cycling. Soon to get a monitor and start testing. Best of...

It looks like you were diagnosed only quite recently? Wow, you managed to get the numbers down really quickly! My HbA1c was 101 when diagnosed (towards the back end of April). Hopefully I'll get mine down to those levels!
