    Amlodipine -Raised Blood Glucose Levels

I've only been on this medication for the last 8 weeks. I didn't think stopping would have any major effect, apart from maybe making my blood glucose levels drop back down. I'll make an appointment with the doctor. Thanks.

    Type 1 and motorbike ??

Hi, I've recently sold my motorcycle. If your question is, can Type1 Diabetics ride motorcycles, yes they can, as long as you have a valid license and your doctor says you are fit to drive / ride.

    Amlodipine -Raised Blood Glucose Levels

Hi All, At my last routine hospital visit a couple of months ago all was going well, hba1c came back at 6.2, a little higher than previously but still acceptable. My only problem was my BP, which was still a little high, typically 145/85 so the specialst also subscribed me 5mg of Amlodipine...

    new job

I started my new job on Monday. I told my Manager about my type 1 diabetes as soon as I got chance. Just a quick explanation that I take insulin twice a day, once at breakfast and once at tea time and assured her that it doesn't effect my work and I've never had a day off because of it since...

    When to change home tester?

Is it the type that is callibrated everytime you get a new pack of strips? I have this type(Optium Exceed) and both of mine are still going strong after 3years. It would be good if you had a backup - you could then check these aginst each other.

    new job

This is good to read. I start a new job on Monday and they don't know about my Type1 yet. It was all out in the open at my last employer because I was diagnosed whilst still working there. I was wondering about the best way to tell them. I can't wait to start. I was made redundant in...

    Diagnosis

That is a long time to wait. I had symtoms very similar to yours, they gradually got worse over a 3 week period. It was my blurred vision and constantly getting up during the night to go to the toilet that made me go to the doctors. I'm suprised that the doctors didn't have the facilities to do...
