The libre 3 will show you projected a1c where the 2 will not but I've had a lot of issues with both the libre and had to exchange several times although the customer service is excellent. I will now try a dexacom 6 in hopes of a more reliable experience. Good luck.

I was originally prescribed dexacom 7 which I think you can only use your phone as a reader (not 100% sure) but my android pixel was not compatible so I got the dexacom g6 and can use your phone and/or the reader PLUS it's covered by my insurance (Cigna) where the 7 was not.

I have had so many issues with libre 2 & libre 3. Had to get exchanged multiple times. I will say their customer service is excellent but I'm switching to dexacom 6 in hopes of an improved & reliable experience. I hope it works for you.
