My dr prescribed dexcom 7. I think I will have to pay out of pocket. Do I need a receiver or does it work with android phone? I am in USA. Can anyone tell me about it?
 
I was originally prescribed dexacom 7 which I think you can only use your phone as a reader (not 100% sure) but my android pixel was not compatible so I got the dexacom g6 and can use your phone and/or the reader PLUS it's covered by my insurance (Cigna) where the 7 was not.
 
If you go to the dexcom website they should have a link telling you whether your phone is compatible.

I am very happy with my G6 so though I will probably soon upgrade to the G7 I would stick with the G6 if I could get someone else to fund it for me.
