Taekwondo gradings and high blood sugars

Thanks for this! Definitely helps to know there are others in the same situation. I agree that hypos have a a stronger negative effect on training than a hyper and I also do tend to allow it to run a little high if I am unsure during class then correct afterwards as well. I think hopefully with...

Taekwondo gradings and high blood sugars

Thank you Mbaker! Definitely agree with you on fight or flight, it can make it very tricky to account for. I will check out the link to threads you've added and I hope your training goes well!!

Taekwondo gradings and high blood sugars

Hi Everyone! I'm interested to know if anyone else on this forum practices a martial art and how they deal with the gradings (or if anyone has any ideas to help!) In Taekwondo, the gradings are basically around a 2-3hour session where you are called up in groups to be assessed in front of the...

    Doctor issues

So I went to my gp today because they said they had a letter from my hospital which turned out to be that I wanted to have cartridges not pre filled pens so I could use a half unit one. Firstly they seemed kinda annoyed that I wanted cardtridges and thought I might get confused and didn't want...

Any young type 1s living alone at uni?

Thank you for the advice! It's interesting to hear from others who were diagnosed at a similar time before going to uni :) I've decided to live in a house with 4 others and one being my being friend and I've learned so much in these few months. Hope the rest of your uni experience goes well...

    Stevia v Xylitol

I've found you need more xylitol than stevia because stevia is so much sweeter although I couldn't say exactly how much more as I normally sort of estimate hahah. I would potentially double it or just add until you think it's sweet enough Good luck! Sent from my SM-J500FN using Diabetes.co.uk...

    Keto rash?

My daily blood glucose readings have been good, most days I'm between 4 and 5 although I can only use finger prick blood glucose tests but normally 2 hours after meals I'm back in the fours (possibly rising a bit higher one hour after meals) I don't take bolus injections at the moment as I'm...

    Keto rash?

Me again! Just wondering if anyone has experienced keto rash from being in ketosis or eating a low carb diet? Before I was diagnosed I developed eczema on my neck and thought it was due to stress. I then went into dka and after being put on insulin the eczema completely disappeared. I started...

    Looking for low carb cracker

I've just made a batch of low carb crackers but haven't tasted them yet, they're basically just flax seed egg and cheese and rosemary to flavour them! http://www.ibreatheimhungry.com/2012/01/low-carb-rosemary-sea-salt-flax.html
