I have a Burmese who is over 16 now and she is a picky eater. One day she will eat certain wet food the next day refuses it. There is always dry food as well but rarely bothers with that. She does have teeth problems but vets do not want to do anything as they think she is at high risk...
Where does anyone buy ground pyssilium and what do you pay? Seems expensive. Would just like to keep some in the store cupboard as an emergency in case I decide I need some bread substitute. I am doing very well so far without bread which has been a major food to drop for me. I am managing...
Have been sticking to lchf quite rigidly but have to attend a party in a Chinese restaurant. I know to keep away from rice, noodle and things cooked in batter, sweet and sour but what can I eat other than roast duck. Any ideas? Its a set menu but as yet I don't know what it includes.... Any...
Wishing you all the best to getting your head around this. Your heart attack was perhaps in a way a good thing as the diabetes has been brought to light. I am pretty much following the advice JoKalsbeek has given you but using a meter I have found that I seem to be able to tolerate porridge...
I seem to be managing okay with porridge made with almond milk and a couple of chopped berries. It hasn't appeared to spike as I have been checking the before and after readings. Might be a cheaper option to make with water and serve with cream though.
Do any of you use a food tracking app? I have been listing the carb content of foods into a notebook and wonder is there any programme where I can easily track my daily intake. I am finally really serious about going lchf.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Maggie Magpie,
What meal replacements are you using? Just shakes or are you having bars? I am thinking of doing this but just for a week or two and then going lchf. I think if i do this first the lchf will be easier for me to go back to as I am having real trouble ditching carb laden foods...
I managed to lose weight on lchf but then went back to carb laden food and have now put the weight back on. At the moment I am having so much trouble cutting the carbs and getting back to healthier foods but what you say makes total sense.
Thank you for your reply. I have to stick with 3 meals a day maximum because of work. From what I am reading I guess if I can eventually cut out breakfast that would greatly reduce my eating window and perhaps help. Great weight loss by the way! I wish I could do it too...
