    Metformin side effects

Interested that they switched you from Metformin to Dap. In my case they just added the Dap in.

    Diabetes UK tackling stigma campaign

It used to be a thing on here 10+ years back but not recently. I know most T1s are not like that. I think there used to be a lot of resentment from T1s because T2s got more attention because there were so many more of them. I suspect it may be yoof in the early years of adulthood which...

Lidl vitamins - lack of information?

Thanks @Rachox. Just come back to this. I tried to peel the label off my current pack but it went down fighting to the bitter end. I am investigating available and unavailable B12 in the bloodstream in case this explains my tiredness. I didn't even know that most of the B12 in your blood stream...

    Diabetes UK tackling stigma campaign

Do you follow Diabetes UK on Facebook? [Just being nosey.] If not, can you remember where you saw it? Just trying to work out if the communications strategy is working.

    Diabetes UK tackling stigma campaign

I found a thread at the end of January 2026 on the Facebook page, which I thought(!) I was following. The responses seem to be T1s hating on T2s, which kind of proves their point.

    Diabetes UK tackling stigma campaign

I have been told that Diabetes UK (not this organisation) recently ran a media campaign over tackling the stigma associated with Diabetes. I haven't seen it, so I wondered if anyone else had?

I may need to increase my medication - gliclazide or straight to insulin?

Thanks. "if your beta cells are capable - mine weren't". This is my concern. I think I may possibly be slowly coming to the end of an 18+ year honeymoon period. How did you confirm that you were LADA? Antibody tests? Or just Gliclazide failing to work effectively? I may have a bit of a...

I may need to increase my medication - gliclazide or straight to insulin?

Thanks, very helpful. If you came off it, was it because you had reduced your insulin resistance? Which could imply that you were fully, perhaps over, producing insulin? So plenty of beta cells? I think that I am under producing insulin with at most a small portion of insulin resistance. So...

I may need to increase my medication - gliclazide or straight to insulin?

T2 diagnosed 2008. Slim - I weigh around 11 stone 7 lbs (73 kilos) on a good day. I am 6 foot tall (I may have shrunk to 5 foot 11.5 inches but in my mind I am still 6 foot). My BMI is 21.8 so in the middle of the healthy range. Last HbA1c (September 2025) 8.5%/69 mmol/mol My current...

    Smartwatch and libre sensor

I am finding the thread very informative but I am still confused (not unusual). I have two ""needs". (1) Have an "always on" display on an Android smart phone so that I can connect the phone to USB for power then mount it in a cradle in the car so I can read my BG whilst driving. For example...

    Smartwatch and libre sensor

Interesting stuff. I assume you still have to start the new sensor with the phone?

Made bone broth - now what?

Old thread, but useful. I came looking for the difference between stock and bone broth. I am still not convinced that there is much difference, the only factor seems to be that the bones may be boiled for longer. I'm not convinced that this makes a major difference but happy to be proved wrong...

Foot care - available on the NHS?

Thanks to those who responded so far. :) I suspect that I am not challenged enough to qualify for free foot care, but just checking in case I am.

    Libre 3 Warning

Thanks. Was just coming here to post about this. Thankfully I am on the Libre2+ so not directly affected.
