Hi there
I am taking 2x500g Metformin a day along with 1xIrbesatan for my blood pressure.
My calf muscles have started to ache quite a bit. In the leaflet that comes with metformin it does mention that muscle pain could be a sign of lactic acidosis. Could this be causing my calf muscles to...
Just to confirm what Dal1970 said.
I was diagnosed recently and became very short-sighted at first. It was so bad as I was not able to read newspapers or my computer screen at work. I went and spent £200 on a good pair of glasses and frames only for my sight to come back to almost as it was...
Well I tried some Houmous today for lunch. I had 115g with 2 wholemeal pita breads (yes I measured the pot on my electronic scales before and after). It was the Marks & Spencer "normal" houmous (ie not the low fat one). Before lunch my bg was 5.4 and my 2 hour reading afterwards was 6.6. I...
Hi there
Eating beans has never really been a part of my diet - other than kidney beans in Chilli con carne! :) They always seem quite complex to cook.
One thing I liked when I was in Miami was the Black Beans with Rice that was served in Cuban restaurants and would be willing to attempt to...
Thanks for the replies.
According to the Kelloggs Web-site there is 69g of Carbohydrates per 100g of Fruit 'n Fibre (sugars 24g, starch 45g). As I had 40g I calculate this to be around 28g of Carbohydrates.
I'm afraid I don't know whatI should do for a hypo.

Hi Ken
Thanks for your reply.
I didn't do a Fasting test this morning - I forgot  I haven't done much this morning - just drove the 50 miles to work.
For Breakfast I had a bowl of Fruit 'n Fibre (40g) with Skim Milk and a half glass of the Not From Concentrate Orange Juice.
Thanks
Martin
Hello
I'm a newishly diagnosed Type 2. I take 2 Metformin 500g a day (one with breakfast, one with dinner).
This morning I took a reading 2 hours after breakfast and it was 4.4. My DN said my levels should be between 4.5 and 7. Should I be worried - or do something about this low level...
Hi BB
Sorry I don't have an answer to your question but I was interested in knowing what generic version you got.
I just received Bolamyn SR instead of Glucophage SR. One thing that is quite nice is that they are a bit smaller than the Glucophage tablets.

Has anyone tried any Supermarket ready meals, or any that they can recommend which don't cause blood sugar levels to go high?
I desperately wanted something with some flavour so I bought the Tesco Finest Paella. I expected to be writing an entry in the Guilty Pleasures thread but ended being...
As it was Easter I had 2 Hot Cross Buns toasted with butter. They were the white flour ones from the in-store Tesco bakery. I tried the wholemeal ones but it was like eating cardboard. My BS hit 15. :(
Hello
As A newly diagnosed Tyoe 2 I'm a bit confused about the carb counting. I am not sure what I should be looking at or really understand the figures.
If something has x amount of carbs how does that relate to y amount of sugar?
Could someone give me an overview of what I should be...
