    Forced to move pump clinics?

Apparently because my old pump clinic was part of the community, they cannot see outside of area. If the clinic was at the hospital I wouldn't have this problem. I can't register at a GP out of my area, so they can't see me. I've requested to be seen at a hospital with a dedicated pump...

    Forced to move pump clinics?

My pump nurse has just said to me I can no longer be seen at my pump clinic because I've moved out of area, the hospital and community hospital are both further away from me than my current one and are difficult for me to reach as I don't have a car. When I brought up NHS choices, she said it...

    Moving CCG. Pump funding paused?

I moved here and registered with the GP 6 months ago, I've ordered pump supplies since then and changed my details at the hospital at least 5 / 6 months ago as well. Is there any reason why this has taken so long or is it just the CCG's being a bit useless?

    Insulin pumps

I've had a Medtronic Veo for over a year and have managed to pull it out twice, both times it was in my leg and I was on the loo. I had another girl start with me whom works with kids and she's never had a problem with them and the pump, she showed it to them and explained it to them and...

    Moving CCG. Pump funding paused?

Hi, does anyone have experience of moving CCG? I recently moved from Havering to Brentwood and Basildon CCG and I have tried to order pump supplies only for Medtronic to tell me I can't until they have a new PO number, I've spoken to the Pump Clinic who can't confirm anything until Monday, but...

Im struggling with my insulin pump, can you help me ?

Hi Reece, Dougal is right. Acceptance is key, if you haven't accepted. And taking small steps would help. Try making your diabetes into more of a routine... I'm not brilliant with blood testing, but as I don't want to lose my pump I know I need to test. Maybe focus on making sure you blood...

    Insulin Pump!!

Hi xXBeautycomeswithinXx, I've been on a pump since last July and it's been the best thing for me. I have Medtronic Veo, so I can only provide answers as far as I know with that pump: does it hurt? Sometimes I've found putting a new site in uncomfortable, and if you have a site in longer...

    Medtronic Veo Insulin Not Affecting

Steel cannulas would solve the bent cannula issue. So it might be worth trying that. If the actual insulin is an issue and obviously everything's in date, it would probably be worth speaking to your DSN / Doctor and looking at changing insulin, some people prefer Aprida for instance over...

    Females on insulin pump

How are you reading now? I'd follow donnelysdogs suggestion and change your set, better to be safe than sorry and it could easily be a kinked or blocked set. I'd always correct with a own above 16 as that would work quicker than the pump correction. Did you manage to hear back from your DSN?

    Medtronic Veo Insulin Not Affecting

Hi Diabellu, I use a Veo and I have a problem with cannulas. Are you using the soft cannulas? If so, the issue is probably that the cannula is bending slightly or a lot as you insert it (if you check the cannula once removed, you may notice this). This happens for me a lot on my abdomen sites...

    Females on insulin pump

Hi Nicole, are you correcting via a pen syringe or through the pump? You may need a little more than a correction dose to sort this out. If you're feeling okay and not showing ketones, I would keep monitoring and take your corrections as necessary. Do you normally run a bit higher on your...

Would you prefer to be on insulin injections or on a pump?

Re: Would you prefer to be on insulin injections or on a pum I'm under Havering CCG in Greater London / Essex, from asking to receiving to get the pump was about 3 months. However, I was very fortunate, someone else who went on the pump at the same time as me, in the same CCG waited 18 months...

How long did it take for people to get the pump?

I asked my consultant for a pump in mid-March 2013, met with the pump clinic in mid-April 2013. Received funding approval at the start of June and had the pump fitted at the next available clinic, which was 4 weeks later at the start of July. From asking to receiving... 3.5 months. Sent...

    Pump and a spa day?!?!

Hi Chelsea, What pump are you using? If your pump is not waterproof and you're going to be in a pool / jacuzzi / sauna / steam room, you would need to remove your pump. I recommend blood testing regularly as some people find saunas and steam rooms lower their BG levels and obviously, if you...

Pump beeping with no screen instructions?

Have you tried going into utilities on the menu and selecting selftest? If there's something wrong then that will tell you. It does beep when it finishes insulin doses if you've split the dose for instance. If you keep hearing the beeps and you're worried, give Medtronic a call! They're very...
