    Type 1 Statin’s

I think one thing that is important to remember is that high cholesterol is only a RISK FACTOR for heart disease etc, and not necessarily a key driver. It is only one of MANY risk factors. Reducing cholesterol can be questioned when it comes to final benefit. If you are already taking other...

    Tirzepatide

(Copied from a Reddit thread). A drug approved to treat Type 2 diabetes is extremely effective at reducing obesity, according to a new study. | Tirzepatide, works on two naturally occurring hormones that help control blood sugar and are involved in sending fullness signals from the gut to the...

    Eating to Drop Morning Glucose

I wake up, and BG sits all morning around the 6.5 level. Does not want to drop. I have been reading that sometimes your body needs something to get it to drop out of "morning" mode - ie. food. Sorry, not sure how to describe this in more scientific terms. Has anyone an understanding of this...

Morning High Carb Sensitivity - Just Don't Eat?

Really just not sure what the best option is for mornings and looking for suggestions. My morning glucose is usually between 6.0 and 6.8, and it seems it comes down to to how I sleep. Poor sleep (body feels "stressed") = higher FBG. I should add, I have sleep apnea and use a CPAP machine, and...

Any fish recipes that are easy and quick to do

The original poster asked for recipes to minimize (cover up?) fish flavors, so, while I agree, sometimes less is more (for some things) not in this case.

Any fish recipes that are easy and quick to do

With really GOOD salmon (sockeye etc), we try to minimize any additional flavors as we love it natural (maybe just a little butter, salt, pepper, lemon at most), but this recipe is AMAZING! We often find less expensive pink salmon and this kicks it up a bit. Note...if you do NOT have a cedar...

    It worked

I recently saw a "no hunger" electrolyte drink recipe which was the following: In 32oz of water, add 1000mg sodium, 200mg potassium, and 50mg magnesium. Sip/drink through the day to avoid fasting shakiness, hunger pains etc. Keep making more/drinking as needed. More during heat, sweating...

Keeping Dexcom G6 attached during Aikido or other close-contact arts

No actual experience with the meter, but did Tae Kwon Do for many years, so I would be tempted to wrap some sort of cloth around it, and perhaps a wrap or two of duct tape or some other heavy-duty wrap athletic support elastic. We took some heavy blows and abuse. Just think some trial and error.

Waking at 4:15am with a 7.4 Every Night

Yes, I have full control over my CPAP machine and I do change setting myself whenever I find needs change as well. According the "simplified" web app, my number of events is very low. Last night (picture below) the only issue was the shorter number of hours as I actually managed to sleep in a...

Waking at 4:15am with a 7.4 Every Night

Background. On the verge of pre-diabetes officially - but my numbers are generally a bit wonky and I think have a lot of other external factors involved - I have sleep apnea (being treated, but not working great), my glucose reacts badly to stress hormones etc... Later on in the day (once my...

    Low Carb "Enough" Meal?

Thanks for that....the 2 mmol rise advice was something that I had read previously, but had placed in the back of my thoughts and never really thought about in terms of a practical tool. Yes, I will typically be around 5.0 when starting a meal. Also fighting (along with many) with some sort...

    Low Carb "Enough" Meal?

So just a general question based on the results of some blood glucose testing after eating....been gaining some weight (stupid boredom, covid, etc) and I really need to get back to behaving again.... Trying to gather some solid baselines, I'll eat a meal that I consider low carb/keto...

Type 2 What were your Problems and Experiences practicing INTERMITTENT FASTING ? ( Diabetes Type 2 )

I had suffered from gout regularly PRIOR to going low carb and intermittent fasting. I had a mild flareup when I started doing IF (could be coincidence, or maybe it triggered it - hard to say either way) but I quickly greatly increased my liquids and took my mega-doses of Aleve which knocked it...
