Travelling Abroad For The First Time Since Diagnosis

I travel by air frequently. Put your insulin in your frio to travel, then when passing through security just take it out and put it into the clear plastic bag. Your Frio will not cause a problem even if it is charged. Once past security put the insulin back into the Frio. In fact twice I...

    Simvastatin And Hair Loss

I have B12 injections every 8 weeks, they did little for my hair. Regaine for women is generally 2% Minoxidil whereas Regaine for men is 5% and applied twice per day. Yes you have to continue all your life and it is fairly expensive. I buy it online at around £40 for a 3 month supply but my...

    Simvastatin And Hair Loss

I sympathise with you entirely. It's an identity crisis for a woman. I was losing hair over a period of 10 years or more. I thought it was BP tablets, but when I eventually paid to see a consultant Dermatologist privately (the GP would not refer me on the NHS but was happy to do so privately)...

    Diabetes and marriage life

I am sorry hichamgsm but that is an ignorant, enormously insulting and dismissive supposition, that has angered me. I rarely post here, but this has prompted me to set you right. If a woman has nerve damage caused by diabetes it will impinge on her sexual response, her ability to feel sexual...

Can novorapid act differently for each person

Signy you will see I responded elsewhere. Splitting your lantus should have no input on your basal testing which will only reflect whether the basal on board is right or not.

Can novorapid act differently for each person

Heathenlass To test your basal use the technique as per the instructions half way down this page http://www.diabetes-support.org.uk/info/?page_id=120 It doesn't matter whether you are injecting once or twice a day, the same instructions and methods work.

    traveling abroad

I do know of someone travelling with a pump who had a lot of bother with security. I have just returned from the Canary Isles and have 2 further holidays with flights booked later in the year. I typed my own letter stating I was T1 on a pump and concluded with a list of my meds. I then asked...

    Pump question

I also had a couple of Rapid D links fall out in bed whilst I was asleep. Glad to say the FlexLinks seem better anchored.

    Pump question

Which cannulas are you using? I had similar problems with the Rapid D link but changed to Flexlinks which are much better. Good adhesive keeps them in place but peels off easy without need of Lift or other such sprays. The Teflon cannula is kinder too!

my insulin pen keeps breaking do i complain to the makers or the pharmacy.

With due respect the Novopen Echo doesn't tell you the amount of your last dose. It just tells you how many hours since your last dose. The humapen Memoir used to work as you describe but that was discontinued due to battery problems a couple of years ago.

Everyone please feel free to email him. I bet he doesn't see his emails first off though, I expect a minion opens them, but let's attack in as many ways as we can!

    Petition to David Nicholson

Just unashamedly bumping this thread. Please sign, I need at least 500 sigs to give it some weight and there's not a lot of time to get it in so he can do something before he retires.
