    Lingo vs Glucose Peak

Hi All I have just started using the Lingo app today and read that the first 24 hours can be a bit unreliable. I have been comparing the readings to my pen and test strips and noticed some variance. Has anyone else experienced this when first starting with Lingo? Also, I would love some advice...

Is it too good to be true? Questionable testing?

Also, whilst I was prescribed meds, I never took them as was scared of side effects. They are in my cupboard just collecting dust.

Is it too good to be true? Questionable testing?

Thanks. Probably similar diet although I had a bad 2 week spell in November when I ate a lot of junk....the last 2 months have been 95% keto. Even during December I did not over indulge as I caught covid.

Is it too good to be true? Questionable testing?

I just received the results from my recent HBA1C test, and I'm a bit puzzled by the outcome. Yesterday, I got tested privately with a 24-hour turnaround time, and my score came back as 30, which translates to 4.90% ! This time last year, my HBA1C was 94, and just 8 weeks ago, it was around 46...

    Rookie Question - Ketosis check

Can I ask, maybe a silly question. Is there any way I easily check that I am in Ketosis. I have a Acqu-Check device and can check Blood glucose levels easily but are there any devices or strips that can confirm if I am in Keto or not that anyone can recommend. Right now I can tell through...

HB1AC Now under better control - what next?

My HBA1C was as high in 96 in Feb, I tested last week and got it down to 44. I was prescribed Metformin from Feb and much to my Nurse Dismay, I refused to take it since march and have cupboards full of them given I didn't want any side effects and wanted to rely on low Carbs diet . However...

Raised Hba1c on low carb diet

Surely you would have to purchase a Keto monitor and measure your ketone levels to understand if you are actually in Ketosis? HBA1C is not a measure of Ketosis. It may be that you have to find your Carb tolerance level and increment upwards from 20g ( +5g) and measure you BG to understand what...

Side effects of going on to low carb low sugar diet

Ideally you test when you wake up when you eat something you test and then test 2 hours after to ensure it doesn't spike 2 or more points. To be honest , your numbers sound fine.

Neurologist diagnosed with me insulin neuritis, so can it be possible to be too effective?

I think we may be talking about 2 different but similar things. Treatment induced Neuropathy is indeed reversible and goes away 6-12 months but is dependent on magnitude of change and also the length of time that BG was high for. Other Neuropathy is permanent. So I think that we need to...

Neurologist diagnosed with me insulin neuritis, so can it be possible to be too effective?

Same experience - I only want from 11.0 to 8 but need to see my current HBa1c next week, the muscle aches are uncomfortable. I even had an EMG with a Neurologist to ensure nothing more sinister. The symptoms are getting better but was told to slow down BG reduction, but I think that the risks of...

Did something stupid and believed on hype - Help for the future would be welcomed?

Yes - what's worrying is that I used to eat Big Mac Meals and Apple Pies for fun ( Around 160 g) 3 times a week only as soon as March of this year. I think I have zero tolerance to Carbs now....

Did something stupid and believed on hype - Help for the future would be welcomed?

Thanks, McDonalds meal was silly 114 carbs, but worse was the 22 g pure sugar, I think its the latter that sent me reeling. Although makes me feel that I will never be able to return to Carbs. Its not like never having to return to cigarettes given Carbs are a massive feature of most food types...

    BG not coming down!

    Maybe heat increases BG too?

    Constant pain

Not really. My neuro says it’s self l’incitons mean it corrects itself. It’s largely dependent on the size of the drop. How much has his sugar come down. Anything more than 2 % of nmol increases the risk….

    Constant pain

Theee have been a few similar threads to this. Sounds like Insulin Neuritis or TIND. Happens when blood sugar is corrected in short space of time. For what’s it’s worth I suffer from this although I am type 2 but I dropped my blood sugars by around 30 points in a short space of time and get...
