hi All
I thought I would ask here first to possibly rule out diabetic causes, as my local 'walk-in' has a wait of 4-6 hours and podiatry about 3 months.
For about a week I've had a viciously unpleasant and sharp pain on the outside lower edge of my heel, to the left and near the sole. At rest...
I've been using Myfitnesspal for a few weeks now, huge 'official' database, and can link other products like Mapmyride so you can see effect of excercise on your daily allowance (although this can tempt you into letting the calories creep). Online and phone app both easy and quick (and free -...
This is very encouraging. I'm slowly losing weight and being a bit more sensible with diet. Weight dropped by nearly 10% this year, I'm still BMI over 30, but today learned HbA1c is down to 35. My main change is cycling almost every day and switching from cider to vodka, and cutting out rice...
Awesome! I was motivated by Michael with his TV special on fasting, I tried 5:2 (this is before I was diagnosed, I was just obese) but I struggled. Only later I learned that the 2 days didn't have to be consecutive!
I too am a data geek, Myfitnessspal has really helped realise how much calories...
HI all
This diet is taking off in the Philippines where a huge % of people are T2 due to genetics, sugary foods and snacks, and white rice with all five daily meals. People are reporting rapid weight loss e.g. 20% in 2 months, by going keto and 16:8.
Anyone had similar results?
I was on metformin 1g bd, after my last HbA1c the nurse said I can reduce to 1g but didn't make it clear if thats 1g with evening meal or 500g twice daily. Calling takes about a week for a callback, does anyone have an opinion/advice on this?
I've never had any problems, tummy upset or side...
Thanks for a very useful post - I used to use PA but my new practice only supports Systmonline, so I've re-registered and hope they upgrade soon.
Note you should check with your GP to see which one(s) they use to avoid registering uneccessarily
Thanks all. I'm thinking more on this and I fear she latched on to the word 'taste' and didn't hear me say I had no sense of smell. Probably my fault as I should have led with this. I explainred this further but she'd already got the book out. Do doctors nowadays rely on the BNF for a diagnosis?
Hi guys
I've been living in a very dusty polluted part of the Philippines for the past year, and about 2 months ago I realised I coudn't taste anything. Or rather I could taste - sweet, salt, sour etc but no flavours and no sense of smell. I'm now back in the UK some 5 weeks and I'm surrounded...
