    coping will it get better?

Hi, my 10 year old was diagnosed in November 16. Like your son my boy happily tests and injects himself, rarely complains about any of it and has accepted it all. Me on the other hand, I have read everything and lay awake at night worrying what the future will bring. I was in such a state at the...

    School unsure about trip

Thank you for the advice. I think they are being cautious as they have never done this before. They do give him excellent care at school and the same people are going on the trip.

Rory was diagnosed end of November and currently doing well. I still check him at midnight, very occasionally 3am and always at 6am. As he is in year 6 the school are going away for an activity week in June (PGL). I had paid the deposit before he was diagnosed. School have called me in to say...

Thank you for that. We are now all coping so much better. Went Christmas shopping yesterday which was a big outing but he managed fine, it wasn't a problem. Stopped for lunch, worked his meal out and he gave himself the injection, it was a good day. Have our first appointment back at the...

Parent of new Type 1: 2 days home from hospital

Can't believe how quickly we have got into a routine. He is still having maybe a few hypos a day but the hospital are regularly changing his ratios so fingers crossed he will find a level soon. I think we are in the honeymoon period still. The school are being good if a bit cautions. I suppose...

Type 1: Haribos causing a problem

My 10yr old went back to school today after 2 weeks off. I went in at lunchtime all going well. When I went to collect him he came out clutching haribos. It was someone's birthday and they had been given out. He was so upset that I wouldn't let him eat them. I looked at the tiny packet but just...
