they did tell us the reason in the induction
I had but I can’t exactly remember why it’s to do with access to the area needed to get accurate readings. They told us not to put it anywhere else as it wouldn’t be accurate
Ah ok well I’m not sure what’s going on then that’s what I was told from my doctors why it would be different for other I don’t know
I’ll update this thread when/if I get a letter
Guys huge update
spoke to my doctors they said anyone with diabetes will be getting told to isolate for 12 weeks. They have been finalising them this week and letters are going out and will be landing next week. I have been told I’m getting one so I imagine everyone else will be too
Update I have received a reply from my doctors not confirming or denying a letter is being sent just states that “we are still in the process of sending letters out”
Hi all just wondering has anyone on here received a letter off their doctor telling them to isolate for 12 weeks? I now know 2 people who have type 1 diabetes who recieved letters yesterday telling them they had to stay at home for 12 weeks. They are both in their 50s and have no other...
Hi All, as someone who’s been worried (and confused) about why diabetics were more vulnerable to coronavirus complications I came across this American news report on the situation. It informed me on a lot of things as a type 1 diabetic I didn’t know (I’m sure a lot do) obviously it won’t be...
Just a doctor who’s in charge of a critical care ward Iv also got information of nurses as well (through my mum who’s a nurse) and they’ve all said we are at risk we shouldn’t be working. But I still don’t think anyone knows for sure and that’s the most frustrating part of it.
It’s left me in...
he didn’t state he just said diabetes. the problem we have is because no one knows for sure people are just giving their own opinions which doesn’t help us. One person believes if you have well managed diabetes you are at no more risk but others say we are vulnerable and we need to work at home...
I am not sure where the likelihood of getting it came from but I believe the 1.59 x chance of being seriously ill comes from medical studies into China and Italy
Interesting information that I was told by a doctor who works with corona virus patients I asked him about diabetics and the risks with corona and he stated that diabetics are 5x more likely to catch corona virus and 1.59x more likely to be hospitalised compared to the same person in your age...
The problem is the message being given out it far too vague. Whenever I have heard about diabetics I have not heard distinguishing types just diabetics as a group so I would imagine type 2 would also need to self isolate
I am a police officer so every time I go to work I am putting myself at...
