    Shingles help

Thank you all for replying. I've had chickenpox years ago when I was little (I'm 60 now). I've had a look at the NHS website link thanks Rachox. I'll plan to go and hope his Mom cancels tomorrow then I'll get paid anyway!

    Shingles help

I'm a one to one tutor and the sister of one of my pupils has shingles. Mom let me know today and asked if I want to cancel. I would prefer not to as I don't have any contact with this young girl, and her brother, (my pupil) mostly refuses to attend the sessions which are at home. If I don't go...

    Blood sugar dip before lunch.

Hi Alison I know this has been a while. Sorry. I spoke to the nurse who said I could stop the gliclazide and take just Metformin for a while and if it keeps happening stop both. I'm now off both but still take them at dinner. I've since had my HBA1C done again and it's 49! I'm pleased about...

    Blood sugar dip before lunch.

Hi all hope you can help. My blood sugar is mostly under control now and within normal limits but lots of times at lunch it has dropped to around 4.1 and I become jittery and shaky so I have to have 3 jelly babies and then lunch to bring it up a little. I take 500mg Metformin and 20mg Gliclazide...

Wish I had found this forum earlier.

Hi. Well done for getting your levels down. I thought mine was high at diagnosis - 131 4 weeks ago. I've got my bg down to almost normal now using advice from here. My hba1c is down 23%. This is a brilliant place to be. I also got the Carbs and Cals app which has been very useful. Good luck and...

A bit of an update. Good news and a query

Hi I was diagnosed on 7 Feb with an HbA1c of of 131. I took all of the advice from this forum and cut carbs to around 80 per day. I'm on 2x 500g Metformin per day (with no problems, must have an iron stomach) and 120 mg Gliclazide per day 40:80. Yesterday I had blood results again as the DN...

    Blurry eyesight as sugars reduce?

I'm suffering this too, it started about a week after I began cutting carbs. I've had to go up a couple of strengths. My small print reading glasses are now not strong enough so I bought some readers from Asda for £5 and saw some in Home Bargains for £2. Its been a long 3 weeks. Good luck.

Disposal of needles, lancets, cartridges and pens

It does seem a lottery, I'm near Wolverhampton and the surgery gave me one not on prescription and said just return it when its full.

    New type 2 and confused

I seem to have been very lucky so far. I'm a teacher and I've had half term to get used to this, I don't know what will happen next week if the metformin trots sets in!. I was seen quickly and I have a free monitor that measures ketones too. This forum is an absolute goldmine of information and...
