    Constipation...again

I suffer more since diagnosis and change of diet. Nuts definitely bind me up badly, even just a few! I agree re drink lots of water. I drink hot water.

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

I'd had a very naughty day, fallen off the wagon. First time I've been really bad since being diagnosed. I will be back on track tomorrow. It was all due to this excessive heat. I've no intention of doing it again.

    No Gallbladder And Fats

Mmm, interesting thread. I had my gallbladder out almost 9 years ago. My cholesterol has crept up since and was deemed high when I was diagnosed diabetic T2 5 weeks ago.

Thanks Freema, I shall make these biscuits tomorrow. I bet the family will love them and I won't get a look in!

Can Someone Tell Me If This Is Ok?

Thanks DCUKMod, I've ordered a tester and strips, so that's the next step.

Can Someone Tell Me If This Is Ok?

my breakdown of food today works out at about 82 carbs, 49 protein, 74 fat, 20 fibre. This seems to be roughly the daily pattern now. I have been diagnosed type 2 for about 5 weeks now. I'm vegetarian and allergic to eggs. Can someone please tell me if this food breakdown is on the right tracks...

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

The carbs course was very informative. I subsequently bought a carbs counting book which I refer to at each meal time in an effort to cut down on carbs. I'm still struggling to know if I'm eating better though.

    Food Diary

Hi, I'm working hard at keeping a food diary of all I eat, listing carbs and fat especially. I'm using carbs & calorie counter book to help work out the sums. I'm keeping the carbs to around 100 per day, working to get it down further still. What fat figure should I aim for? Although I'm not...

Vegetarians: What have you eaten today?

I've been veggie all my life but when diagnosed 3 weeks ago I realised I have to cut way down on fruit. Life is hard but so be it. I don't do goat or sheep chees and am allergic to eggs but I'll get creative now and will post here from now on. Thanks for some of the above ideas. Oh my avacados...

What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Ok, this weekend has been awful re food, as we were at a friend's house without transport and most of their bought in food was very naughty, so I had a couple of cheese rolls and some mushrooms cooked in butter. I'm allergic to eggs. Really don't like hoummous but do keep trying it. Lunch...

    How Often To Test Blood

Hi 9's, this is likely a daft question, but how do you know you have a fatty liver? In other words, given that most surgeries seem to fill us full of rubbish information, how does any one of us know that we don't have a fatty liver? I'm not trying to think up more things to have but it's a worry.

Diabetic With High Cholesterol And Highbp

I'm definitely trying to follow LCHF but I'm struggling somewhat. I'll keep going though cos I want to control this and not have it controlling me. Early days, but I think mostly I'm feeling better. I seem to find it hard to think of much else though. It's a scary place to suddenly find...

Diabetic With High Cholesterol And Highbp

I also have high cholesterol and high blood pressure. Also had a bad experience with statins which resulted in 5 months off work - first time I'd been off more than a few days except when having children. I agree the LCHF diet looks as good in one way as it looks bad in another for us.

Diabetic With High Cholesterol And Highbp

I may try homemade low salt brown seeded bread with button mushrooms. Would that be better than the muesli? Thank goodness I see the carbohydrates nurse for a 2 hour diet help session on Monday. The Desmond all day appointment is mid August. It seems mad the dr gives his diagnoses along with the...

Diabetic With High Cholesterol And Highbp

Ah, problem. I'm allergic to eggs, so sadly that's a no-go I'm afraid. Thank you though. My muesli is Allen no added sugar. I'm sure it's not good, but it's the lowest one I could find when I checked labels. Maybe I should just breakfast with yogurt? I've become a yogurt junkie since diagnosis...
