I’ve had diabetes for 20 years (I’m mid 40s) and PCOS since my teens.
I lost a lot of weight doing LCHF about 10 years ago (this never improved my diabetes though), but put weight back on during pregnancies and now even on the Fast 800 (low carb, low calories) doesn’t make the slightest...
Just been to Boots to collect my prescription and they’ve told me that they can’t get hold of novofine 6mm needles and that I need to ask my GP to prescribe a different type.
Has anyone else been told this? Is there an alternative that’s as good?
Thanks
I’ve phoned and been told that the results just show total cholesterol, no further breakdown, which is annoying.
GP didn’t try to prescribe a statin, although I’ve told them before that I won’t take statins.

Latest blood test shows raised cholesterol (5.6) & also found higher level of protein in urine.
GP wants to put me on a blood pressure tablet.

I am in the exact same position as the OP & it’s such a relief to hear that I’m not alone. I have a GP appointment soon so I’ll ask for HRT in the hope that helps.

I’ve read that some antidepressants can cause weight gain and raised blood sugar - obviously I want to avoid this if possible! Des anyone have experience of trying to balance the two or...
Hi there - thanks & sorry for the delay in response - Christmas etc...
So I’m told I’m a type 1/2 hybrid. Originally diagnosed as t2 but starting hba1c of 12. Type 2 meds not ever very effective on me. Frequently asked if I was sure I wasn’t t1 but antibodies were never detected (I’m now...
And now bizarrely they’ve gone back up to double figures today. I’ve changed my pump set and libre and levels have gone from below 7 consistently to between 11-21. I give up!
I have done a course but a while ago. I’m hoping my insulin settings will go down at my next appointment but it still doesn’t explain why coming off forxiga has improved things dramatically.
