    Type 1 Diabetes and IBD?

Hi there. I've just read your post and want to say - please don't despair. I was diagnosed with Chron's Disease in 2017 & Type 1 diabetes in 2220. There are days that are really tough, especially experiencing fatigue, hypos, hypers, Chron's flare up, life & work. Just take it all in your stride...

80 years T1 and doing well

It's refreshing to read a positive story on life expectancy in living with T1D. I went through despair at my potential short life span & was told by my consultant there's no reason why I couldn't live until I'm 94. It did make me feel better & no doubt time will tell.

    Insulin having little effect

Hi there. It is worrying when this happens with your blood glucose being high. I'm having my 2nd very bad cold/chest infection in 2 weeks. Ever since Christmas eve my BG has been high up to 25mmol & shows no signs of returning to levels prior to me being ill. Last night at midnight it was 22...

Anyone else got this mega cold and bloods are up up up?

Thank you. It's a shame right on Christmas, hoping things will be ok soon or I'll have to give my DSN a call. I remembered the sickness guidelines information, so have have increased my rapid insulin today.

Anyone else got this mega cold and bloods are up up up?

I hope you are feeling better. I'm recovering from this stinking cold/flu illness, which has swept through my household. My BG is the highest it's ever been 25 mmol on Christmas Day & 24 mmol on Christmas eve. (Yes they even match the date). Even today it's been 18.4 mmol & I've not been in...

Type 1: What are your HbA1c test results?

Absolute shocker. Earlier in the year they were 8.4 % 68 mmol & are now 6.5 % 47 mmol. Have gone through one hell of a journey to get them down.

Fear of passing it on to children

Try not to worry. Easier said than done I know. I have 5 children & was diagnosed with T1D & am the first person in my entire family to have diabetes. Passing it onto my children, shorter life expectancy have all all crossed my mind & then did the realisation we live in the 21st Century & are...

Type 1: What are your HbA1c test results?

When I last had my hba1c checked in September 2021 it was 57 mmol or 7.4%. I have a Libre 2 & today it says 70 mmol or 8.6%. Seems things are heading in the wrong direction :(. I'll be having another hba1c blood test soon & a review with my diabetes specialist nurse.

    COVID restrictions gone........................

I've got Type 1 diabetes & am on immunosuppressants for Chron's disease. I am extremely clinically vulnerable. I have tried really hard to protect my health & that of my families during this Covid-19 pandemic. I have worked throughout this scary time running a social care company & have worked...

Just been approved for the libre 2

Great news. I'm chuffed with my Libre 2 & am on my 4th now. I use a alcohol wipe, put it on the back of my arm under my triceps muscle. I use elastoplast knee & elbow plasterers. They work a treat keeping it in place. I experimented & did manage 4 days without a plaster until last Saturday...

    Libre pain

I had my first ever Libre 2 on 02/12/21 & it packed up 10 days later. I phoned Abbott & they were very helpful & have sent a replacement. I agree on fitting the Libre on the back of the arm just under the triceps & is out the way when sleeping on my side.
