    Continued acne and a goat!

Abby, I use the OGX range. There is usually some sort of offer on somewhere. There is quite a few out there on the high street to look at that may be a bit cheaper. Also another product that a few people at work swear by is Cetaphil and/or Sebabed. I think they are to help eczema and...

    Continued acne and a goat!

I agree with Sunshine84. Caroline Hirons is brilliant and I mean brilliant! Her husband is also type 1 so she knows her stuff. She doesn't have her own products but you can follow her cheat sheets in order to help with your skincare regime and pick the right products for you from the...

    Starting a family

Thank you very much for your help. I'll take it all on board and get cracking! The annoying thing is that ever since we have decided to start our own family my sugars have decided to go mental. They used to sit for weeks around 5-7 and now I'm lucky if a reading is under 10. So frustrating!

    Starting a family

Hi, My partner and I are thinking about starting our own family. I've been in contact with my diabetes team who have offered a bit of advice about where my levels should be. I've haven't got an appointment with them until 1st July which is fine as it will give me a bit of time to refine what...

    DAFNE Help!

Thank you very much for your responses. Engineer88 I thought I was doing it right! Micky, I have gone back to basics and am writing everything down to see patterns. At the moment I believe it's a miss calculation of carbs (not every meal is easy to judge) and exercise which is proving...

    DAFNE Help!

Hi, It's been awhile since I did DAFNE and I no longer see a DAFNE trained diabetes nurse (long story). I was always taught that if your levels were higher than 7 then you should take a correction, however my DN now says that unless my levels are over 10 then I do not need to take a...

    how to loose weight?

I've started using My Fitness Pal as I don't really have the time to join a weight loss club. I've found that it has made me much more aware of what I am eating and it's also made me think about my portion sizes. It's working for me!

    Blood monitoring at work

Re: Blood monitoring at work There is one gentleman in my office who always makes a fuss when I get my kit out. I recently told him that it would be easier for the first aiders to deal with him fainting then it would be to treat me for a severe hypo or organ failure due to not taking my...

    Levemir

Thanks Pilgrim, I do split it at the moment. I take my levemir in the morning at about 7 am and I take my evening one just before bed, which can be anywhere between 10 and midnight. Didn't know whether to change and take it at 7 pm to make an equal 12 hours?

    my fitness pal

I downloaded this last night and added yesterdays food intake and was shocked as to how many carbs I actually consumed and I keep a handwritten food diary!

    Levemir

Hi, Quick question, could someone please tell me how long Levemir lasts for? My night time readings are a bit high and I was thinking that I may have to change the time I take my evening injection. Thanks

    Thrush and Diabetes

When I was having a blip, my other half made it clear that if I developed any complications then he would refuse to be my carer. Try to make him realize that he is your husband and you're not there to wipe his ar$e.

    hypo

I felt my first hypo at 6.7 five years ago. After a bit of time you will be able to get this lower. Everyone is different but I don't think it is unusual to hypo at a higher level when first diagnosed.
