    Age when diagnosed

    I was diagnosed in January 1979 at the age of 17 with type 1 diabetes - no real surprise there! I have always kept extremely tight control and currently have no complications whatsoever. Added to that, I workout almost every day, and think nothing of running 10km for fun!
