Taking painkillers as a Type 1, low or high sugars

I have recently been given a new painkiller for nerve pain due to a trapped nerve in my shoulder/neck area

The pain killer is called Amytriptyline and a side effect it advises that diabetics should test more frequently. It does not however advise if BG levels will tend to go up or down.

Does anyone have experience of this pain killer and how it affected them. Thanks

I took 10mg for almost a year and never noticed an effect on my bg

Thanks Samantha, I just started taking last night. Info on internet is a bit vague on how it affects BG

I was on it for years, actually just stopped it last week. I was on 25mg and never noticed an effect on my sugars
