Masses of free low carb recipes online. Anything you fancy just google and put keto in first. Beware any diet books that have "diabetes" in the title. You need to see the inside of the book first. When looking at any recipe, you need to look at the carb content first.

Hi Gemma and welcome to the forum.
Any food saying 'diabetic' on it should be considered poison. Any recipe saying 'diabetic' should be viewed with caution. The the word that says it is safe is the word 'Keto'.
Government guidelines on healthy diet don't help (and very likely cause) Type 2 diabetes.

I am assuming that you have Type 2 since you are posting in the Type 2 section.
So you need to understand that Type 2 diabetes happens when your body can no longer cope with all the Carbs (both sugar and starch) that you have been eating on a daily basis. Both whole grain and Low GI Carbs are still bad for you, since they just take a little longer to spike your Blood Sugar.

High Carb is bad, but there are only 3 categories of foods that supply the calories and nutrients that we all need.
So if you cut down on Carbs then unless you are deliberately losing weight something else must increase. The choice is between Protein and Fat. Contrary to what you have been told, Fat isn't bad for you. Fat doesn't make you fat - it is Carbs that do that!

There are thousand of diabetics who have improved their diabetes by diet - often by diet alone = no medication required.

The 2 most popular approaches are: 'Carnivore diet' = eat almost no fruit or veg, just a few leafy greens.
Low Carb High Fat diet = eat berries and almost any veg except for 'root veg'. With this diet you can eat Avocado, but not other fruit except for berries, but you can eat Meat, fish, eggs, cheese, natural (high fat) yoghurt, cream (but not milk). And most people doing that lose weight (at least initially) without ever going hungry !

Welcome to a brighter future - all because you were diagnosed as Type 2 Diabetic !
