There is a new RCT trial proposed on the BMJ Open site
Dietary Approaches to the Management Of type 2 Diabetes (DIAMOND): protocol for a randomised feasibility trial
https://bmjopen.bmj.com/content/9/1/e026460

It appears to have started recruitment. It is apparently predominately a Low Carb diet intervention.

It is "low-carbohydrate, low-energy" eg the Newcastle diet done with real food, not a LCHF. It looks like the 8 week blood suger diet being done in a primary care setting.

they do seem determined to make starving a diet, rather then an option.
god alone knows why a starvation diet of 800, is used
because what happens after..?
can THAT be sustainable for life.?
are people really cured forever of T2..you think they'd shout about that ..right !!

"NO MORE T2D..starve for 12 weeks, be cured.."...:D

Shouldn't LC or LCHF be also applied and tested likewise.
a diet that many could stick with, a diet that those on the ND probably come
to at some point, if they get told, to regain the hard fought health they lose once the ND trial ends.

I do feel sorry that so many are buying into this without there being a fair trail
of others that MIGHT be more beneficial to some

It is as far as i know 60+% fail rate after two years.
surely T2's deserve better odds then that.?

Can't help but cynically.. see the cost of shakes etc figuring deeply in the thinking here.
LCHF for me cost me what it costs...No middle man, no company making profits of the back of MY hard work.,,Nada.

Bu there again..I am cynical...:watching:
