Hi @ConcernedCarer
Tiredness? Is diabetes Lee’s only condition because other things can cause tiredness?
When his team say doing brilliantly- what actual numbers is he seeing?
What type of diabetes does he have and how is it treated?

Hi @Diakat
Blood Pressure should be less than 140/80mmHg, Lee's was 130/76mmHg.
Cholesterol should be less than 4mmol/l, Lee's was 3.90 mmol/l (Trigs 7.6 need to be less than 2).
HBa1C should be less than 48mmol/mol, Lee's was 60mmol.
His height is 1.78 meters.
His weight is 105.50 kgs.
BMI is 33.30, should be 20-25.
The Doctor at the Hospital/Diabetes Clinic said he was very happy with these results and doesn't need to see him again for 6 months.
Lee was diagnosed Type2 mid August 2019 and has been taking Metforim 500mg modified release 4 times a day, Dapagliflozin 10mg once a day, Amlodipine 10mg once a day and Atorvastatin 80mg once a day.
Lee was diagnosed with Fibromatosis on both feet for which has Amitripiline 10mg once a day.
Lee's has pre existing mental health conditions schizophrenia and depression which are managed under his psychiatrist.

Thanks @ConcernedCarer
He’s on quite a combination of diabetes drugs and of course depression can add to tiredness. What does he like to eat as blood sugar spikes can make people tired after food.

@Diakat
Thanks for replying, yes he is on a lot of medication. As for food I have got him eating alot healthier such as plenty of veg, fish, chicken, fruit, he has wraps instead of bread with low fat cheese, he is also drinking plenty of water instead of squash. The Dr said Lee had lost 4kg since mid August, and that we are managing his Diabetes well, Lee's chloresterol was dangerously high at 75 and now it's around 7.8.
The issue Lee has is lack of exercise and that's because of the lumps he has on the arches of both feet which are painful when just resting them. He was in the Army for 5 years and had always been active, out and about with the dogs but he can't do it anymore, which I think is a big part of his depression (lack of motivation to do anything). I forgot to mention he takes Fluoxetine 20mg x 3 daily.

Wow you’ve really been through the mill this year but well done for still sounding so upbeat. It’s not surprising your bg levels are still all over the place with your new liver settling in. Hope to see you soon on some of the other threads here.

I was diagnosed with T2 12 days ago. And needless to say my brain is digesting this like a roller coaster one day up and feeling I can do this no biggy the next will hit an all time low and spend half the day in floods of tears until I joined here. Has given me hope to face this one day at a time as there is life after Diabetes. And except for Christmas two days I have literally distanced myself from all people around me including the ones I live with. Having all sorts of silent breakdowns and dreading going back to work after new year.

- Include a photo here if you wish to.

- What is your name? Tanya

- How old are you? 53

- Are you male or female? Female

- Which country are you from? UK

- Which city/area do you live in? In Dubai UAE - worst place ever for being diagnosed with Diabetes! A country with 9 million 17.5% of the population diagnosed with Diabetis yet zero support groups or any for of guidance or advice. And can’t travel back to the UK until June. So have to muddle through this. That’s what one gets when there is no NHS and healthcare is one giant money making entity which is what we have here. This group is literally a life line for me at the moment

- Are you religious? No

- Pick three words to describe your personality. Determined, outgoing, understanding

- Do you have any pets? Yes we have three feline furbabies

- Microsoft or Apple? MAC

- Which sport(s) (if any) do you like/play? Does Monopoly and the SWITCH count - solo sports I run, yoga and weights.

- Do you get angry easily? Up until 12 days ago no - debatable since this diagnosis and dependent on the traffic. Driving skills where I live are from another time frame continuum

- Do you have any tattoos or piercings? No If so, where?

- List your five favourite musicians/bands. Rammstein, The Stones, Pink Floyd, Tailor Swift, Elvis

- What would you say your favourite music genre is? Anything except boy bands and auto tuned pop music

- What is your favourite flag? The United Federation of Planets

- Ever gone camping? Yes

- Ever been in love? Up teen times

- Ever used fake tan? Yes - did I actually just admit to that living in the land of sun ‍♀️

- Which countries have you visited? 84 and no longer counting until I get the dreadful symptoms of this T2 under control

- Favourite city? London

- List your five favourite TV programmes. Star Trek TOS Star Trek TNG Star Trek DS9 ok anything Star Trek, Dexter, Black Mirror, Family Guy, The Orville

- List your five favourite films. Die Hard, The Good the bad and the ugly, Ghostbusters, Pulp Fiction, Réservoir Dogs

- Are you wealthy? Money wise for where I live absolutely not - but that depends on ones definition. Wealth for me means having people you love and that love you in your life, loving your job and having your health. Yes hmm the latter I took for granted for decades

- Do you work? If so, as what? I am an arts therapist working with children and young adults with special needs

- List the subjects you study/have studied. Education, therapy

- What do you like most about yourself? I accept people for who they are and don’t judge - don’t do gossip

- What do you like least about yourself? That I refuse to accept help from people and like to fight my battles alone with a smile on my face. Taken a few days to even write this here . Will probably take me three more days to hit the send button.

Prone to love of take away and beer. Weight has been up and down over the years but normal range would be obese. Initially lost nearly two stone but weight creeping back on. My lower legs are deteriorating rapidly with blotches and hives involving constant itching.

Hi, I'm just trying to find my way around the forum and have used 'post reply' as can't find just 'post'?!! So hello Kenny A and others. I'm also from West Yorkshire. It's nice to get an idea of people on here. One of my overriding traits is that I like shortcuts as I'm often busy: hence not going through each question carefully - but I can tell you my name is Moira, I'm 50, teach part-time, love being active and I'm very slim. I got a bit of a shock to discover I'm prediabetic and I'm very grateful to people on this site sharing information etc. on here as I try to find out/sort out what is going on!

Have fun!

Good afternoon, my name is Steve , make and recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I’m 55 and live in Manchester.

ive been prescribed Metformin (500g) twice a day and last week that was doubled both in the morning and the evening. However I know it takes time for the increase in medication to kick in, but I have no energy at all, going to the toilet regularly and even a 30 min walk drains me. I’m addressing my eating habits but need any help or advice as possible as I’m finding it really hard to deal with day by day... advice welcome pls
