Hi there,
Was wondering if anyone on here could help.
I’m a type one diabetic, 5 stone overweight And just can’t seem to lose weight.
I do a relatively low carb diet around 45 to 75 g of carbs a day I can’t go any lower as have had Dka in the last nine months
Bloods are good usually between 4-7
Lost weight in the first week of doing low-carb but now I’m stuck it just won’t budge
Does anyone have any tips for losing weight ?
Thank u x

Hi @Lipgloss1971
I find that low carb stops me from gaining weight (and lets me lose an extra kg if my weight creeps up) but am stuck at 79kg, which is 15kg more than I'd like. I suspect I'm going to have to calorie count as well as carb count to lose more weight but at the moment I am having a month free of alcohol (and minimising on cheese) to see if that helps.

I find low carb frustrating when I have to eat glucose whenever I hypo. :bigtears:

Have you had your thyroid checked recently? Apparently thyroid issues are really common in T1s.

I will watch your thread with interest because I would really like to lose that extra weight but am not prepared to prioritise weight loss over blood sugar.
