Looking for some advice please.
I have been on closed loop system, Omnipod 5 and Dexcom 6 for a few years. Have my Omnipod device and an app on phone for dexcom. Switching to Libre 2, not my choice but have to go with what is being offered through NHS.
My question is; Do I need an app for Libre sensor on my phone or is it all done through Omnipod device?
Thanks, first time posting on here

Hi emshee1

I have been using the Omnipod 5 and Libre 2 + for about a month. You only need the Omnipod controller. You do not need the Libre app on your phone.

Hope that things go okay with the change.

Thanks for your reply, doing the change tomorrow. Sure it will all be fine but the change is a bit anxiety provoking.

Hi emshee1

I am sure things will go okay as you are already used to using Omnipod 5 & closed loop. I have found ensuring line of sight between the pod & sensor quite challenging. There are a couple of times when I was I sure I had line of sight but the issues I encountered made it apparent I had not.

How did it go ? I get the anxiety too when changing tech, it's the fear of the unknown, we become so used to using the tools to support our condition that changing them can be difficult to deal with so hope your ok.

Hi, yes transition has gone okay so far. Your right that we put our faith in technically and it’s anxiety provoking making a switch. Did quite a few finger pricks yesterday to check it was accurate.
Had an alarm through the night telling me my glucose was 3.2 however was a false reading, i think maybe sleeping on my arm might have caused that?

Yes it's a compression low commonly known to cause false lows during sleep, best checked against a BG meter if you are awake to do so, I tend to position mine on the inside of the upper arm to avoid sleeping on them, glad it's gone ok, confidence will come back once you get used to it.
