What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

6.4 today, having similar problems as @Bcgirl. Doesn't seem to matter what changes I do to diet or exercise, things just stay the same wrt blood sugar readings. Tried a brisk walk and interval runs after main meal in order to bring down numbers during recent weeks. Got opposite results, higher readings and spikes even with low or negligible carb meals. It does seem my body hates to deviate from what it thinks hourly readings should be and responds sometimes angrily to changes. Shame but still hopeful and experimenting.

When I was first diagnosed ten years ago a kilometer walk after a meal would take my glucose levels down. Fast forward to today and any activity takes my glucose levels up.

They reckon that around ten percent of type twos are misdiagnosed. I’d recommend keeping an eye on c-peptides . It will cost, as the NHS doesn’t seem to like testing in my experience. The test cost me around fifty pounds

Fingers crossed for you

6.3 today. Still super low carb. Silly broken pancreas.
Cancer doc requested my biopsy, I should hear soon.
Heat warning still in effect, breaking records every day. (I live in south central British Columbia, Canada). Yesterday it was 38 in town, 34 at our house. Went to the lake yesterday, dog had a blast and I swear she can swim forever.
Gym today was legs and a 35 min incline walk. Blood still 6.3 before lunch. None of the tricks really work for me for any length of time. I swear my body is just happy at 6.3
Hope everyone has a wonderful day
Do hope things go well for you.

5.9. This morning. :) I've been picking up on the walking exercise this week because we are dog sitting whilst son and family are on holiday and doggy is used to going for long walks. We are just doing flat walking as OH is still getting his energy back from the recent bout of Pneumonia he had. He's doing great but he is also asthmatic and the recent hot weather affected him a bit. I think we are off for a coastal walk this morning.

Hope you all have a good day.

5.5 today, super happy with that…and no idea why. I made a homemade pasta sauce with tomatoes and peppers from our garden and mixed in a bunch of ground beef….carby for sure and I also had a low carb bun with it (so good, homemade…best recipe for low carbs buns I’ve ever made) and two small bites of chocolate. I truly don’t think I deserve the 5.5
Dang it’s HOT….no end in sight. Tonight it’s not supposed to cool all that much, that’s the worst.
Still waiting on a call regarding an appointment for the biopsy. I hate waiting…

Had an ideal opportunity for a low blood reading being up at 5am as young grandkids here for a sleep over. Sadly total chaos and bedlam from the minute they woke up and never got the chance to test until now (0830) and got a 7. Not too worried as considering the stress levels, also repititions of "wheels on the bus" as well as trying to prevent dismantling of the house from the inside it could have been far worse. Thank goodness not a regular event.
